I used to work at schneider for two years. I'm considering applying for Trimac myself. And Trimac appears to be the better option as far as pay. At my second year with schneider I only made slightly over 27,000. and I was OTR for 3 1/2 weeks at a time I would come home to do my national Guard drills. The 2012 frightliner I had suffered from so many breakdowns it wasn't funny. But still with all the breakdowns I should of made into the 30,000's. My enlistment in the guard is over next month and I don't to end it just because of truck driving.

    sjohns20680 and Chinatown Thank this.

Of course you can start with tankers, I am a trainer with Schneider bulk and I see no problems with it. Are you sure Trimac offered you a job right out of school? That would be the first I have ever heard of them hiring a new driver.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Yep, they're now hiring new CDL graduates. Tidewater Transit also now does the same.

Really??? I have been in contact with Trimac for a month and it has been a process. I figured no way they were hiring new guys. I have pretty much decided to pass on them as the hiring process has been a bit of a cluster to say the least. I sent you a P.M but your inbox is full, I wanted your opinion on them since your one of the most senior drivers on here. I'm going to P.M ukdon and see what he has to say. They were talking about sending me to some training academy and all and I was wondering why, guess the hiring new guys thing makes sense. I never heard of a signing bonus with them either.
