Im currently working OTR a family friend who also drives local is telling me his company is looking for drivers. Im wondering what questions should i ask. Im going to talk to the boss in the morning an want to make sure i cover all my bases. I have it good were im at now but being home every night an weekends is almost to much to pass up.
Thinking about a new Company.

Just one question, when do I start, followed by thank you, sir. Just humble opinion.

Pay & benefits is all I would be interested in.
I personally didn't like local, so didn't do it long. Stayed tired all the time and rushed trying to get enough rest before work the next day.
Some drivers love local & good for them. -
Personally, I would not like local because I HATE to leave the house. LOL! I love driving, but leaving the house every day would be hard. I work 4 days on and then have 4 days off now. Best of both worlds! And they pay me more per mile to do it! What is not to love?

Ask em if there is a down period/slow season for whatever it is you would be hauling locally. Nothing sucks more than being blindsided by a slow period because everyone at the company said "oh yeah we're busy all year round."
So find out what their idea of busy is and see if it fits what you are looking for.
Local wasn't for me. I like the adventures of the road, but there are plenty of local guys who bring home big bacon.
Best of luck to ya.

Make sure it's day shift. Seems like a no brainer but I got blindsided by that. After orientation they said btw you will be working 11 to midnight.

Well after taking to the guy its like this 25% pay work as little or as much as i want home every night if i want home on the weekends an if i want to work just let him know. Direct deposit. No Slip seat. Consistant freight. 2000 Western Star. I think im going to take it.
