Hey guys got a question for you. If I was to buy out a single truck operation with his authority and everything, how difficult is it to change the name of the person who is the owner of the authority and also possibly changing the company name?

I think the easiest way to do it is have the original owner do a name change first. Then he resigns and you become president of the new corp.

Go to the fmcsa web site then to FAQ for registration then to how do I notify fmcsa my motor carrier operating authority transfer

This will take you step by step through the process. Looks like it will take about a month. I did not read it in enough depth to see if you can execute then name change at the same time. If not then follow the steps to change the name also listed on the same FAQ page.

Doesn't look hard but lots of steps- same as getting new authority- insurance, process agent, etc

I did 935 miles from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning. I was like a zombie and won't be doing it again. I'm not as young as I once was. Ugh

Unloading in S. Bend, IN then reloading and headed to Detroit Lakes, MN for tomorrow delivery. Gonna be another long day, but as long as I deliver by 3pm tomorrow, I'm good. So not gonna push it too far

Started 435 this am. Ran down thru manhattan come across the 59th street bridge and delivered a load of grout to Northern Blvd right on the other side of the bridge. Empty at 830 went 2 blocks up parked it fell asleep for an hour. Made some calls to brokers who are still on the "Monday morning cheap page" and get proud Til I remind them how i spoke with them last week and it's obviously the same load they are sitting on.... Fielded a call from a potential new customer 2 miles from the house with work a few days a week for 8 months of the year. Then walked over here to the Drunken Donuts to get some caffeine in my system to keep going.

Once I did 2300 miles in a 6 day period-never again! I'm too old/fat/lazy/fill in the blank with a generic reason, too much like work for me to truck that much lol
