Go with 3.58 and 22.5 rubber. It'll put you right at 1425 rpm at 65mph. 3.73 with same rubber will put you around 1475rpm at 65mph. I would go with 22.5 rubber and 3.58 if there is 1850TQ in the motor, or with 3.73 if there is 1650TQ.

Original poster, who do you plan on having build your glider? Have you looked into that?

Rolling coal
I have looked at Fitzgeralds and Kustom gliders. I haven't done anything because I have received an invite from a Company in Ca for a possible contract. I go Wed to meet with them. So, I have put the gliders on hold until I find out the what this is going to require. If i have to go New instead of a Glider I will really be in a jam because I don't really know what is that reliable out there in the new trucks. I know I don't want a 2010 per DEF engine. Looks like they will need one truck every 12 days. Wed will be interesting. -
ECL Carriers (div of Contrans) , Mike nesbitt Trucking, Ray Williams Trucking,Mark Kennedy Trucking, Colin Dobbin Farms ...Just a Few Ontario based carriers that are still purchasing & registering gliders from Paccar, Freightliner/western Star, with no Issues registering them, as of april 2014

How or who are they getting to build it??? Pretty sure Peterbilt won't assemble it ... do you have more info?

To build a glider in Canada, first you need to purchase a rolling chassis from Pete or KW. Paccar won't finance the chassis, so you gonna have to pay for it yourself. Then, you'll need a donor truck with minimum 2 components (motor and tranny) and have the 3rd. party shop put it all together. Warranty wise, you getting a bare minimum, if any. Since you not financing with Paccar, you can forget about 3years basic components extended warranty, cause this is how you get it by financing with Paccar. Your donor motor and tranny has nothing as well. Finally the 3rd. party shop will wave you goodbye after installing the motor and tranny. Now imagine if they would screw up somewhere along while installing your motor, tranny and electrical harnesses. Scary stuff. At the end the cost of this glider will be $20-30K CAD higher then a brand new truck. I don't now about you, but I don't have $200K lying around, and even if I did, I would definitely require and extended warranty to back this kind of purchase.

gokiddogo and Grey Dodge Thank this. -
Is it impossible to buy a 6nz cat engine without having a donor truck with one in it? Or just very expensive? Also wondering how the Ontario emissions drive clean would work doing this.
-
Cleveland brothers in milesburg build gliders with cat engine that the customers select. RW Birds (milk haulers) order new columbias with 6nz c-15.

Thanks russ, but the Canadian government does not allow finished glider trucks to be imported into Canada ...

Yeah, they won't let my dad get into their country because of the accident 20 years ago.
Battle Born Thanks this.
