They'll be back to slammin doors soon enough.. Those are the guys hauling for those crooked ### cow buyers, and the stupid swine haulers that love to come down and cut rates for a "backhaul" ... Make a name for yourself and you'll have steady work for a handful of folks worth hauling for, most all on nothing more than a handshake...

Ok, well i want to thank all for your advice . looks i got my work cut out for me if i want to break into this business , thats one of the reasons i am looking into this now , so that i know what i need to do when the time comes.

I guess it looks like one of those right time right place kinda deals,

i do get by some sale barns from time to time . i just never have time to stop , or i am trying to get as far as i can for the day.

i live in York ,PA , some of you may have been to New Holland , PA there are some sale barns over there, witch is about 45 mins. away from my house , so i guess i could shoot over there some days when i come home.

i seen someone said , "they would rather teach a farm hand to drive a truck , then a truck driver to handle cattle" . well i guess i got both kinda covered ( lol ) , so maybe that will help me.

thanks again, for the help. i think i am a gluten for punishment , but no risk no reward .

It's a different world of livestock hauling up there but with a little luck and good attitude you can do it anywhere I guess. I hauled killers up to wyalusing pa. However you spell it and a neighbor would buy some of the sickest nastiest calves from upstate ny and ship them back to Oklahoma. You gotta start somewhere I guess. I'd try making phone calls to friends that might know someone in the business and go from there or call someone in your area that does it and see if they are looking for a truck and give them your history. If I can think of the guys in ny that came down here I'll get back to you but I'm tired and can't remember at the time.
I was also one of the lucky ones that never had to look for a job in it. I grew up around it and most people that know me knew I was driving as an early teen for one of the best in the business. With that reputation I never had to look for work either.

Sounds like you have plenty of motivation for it. You'll need it. Hope you get the opportunity you're looking for.
That company is Caruso cattle company out of Frankfort Ny. I don't know anything about the company or how far they are from you but maybe it's a start

Hey , thanks for the info .
I did some checking they are small , something like 10 drivers total (or maybe thats not small )
gonna have to check into them , and inquire experience needed and such.

    Thanks again.

Will do, I'll be starting at the end of June. He just bought a Pete 379 and is putting a new engine, trans, paint, and redoing the inside. I should have a pretty sweet ride there. Ill keep you updated
