Jeff I've been there, although it was one of my first loads for Abilene. I remember I loaded it out of Oklahoma someplace. What I remember about getting there was the minute you get off 81 and work your way to Stanley the route was nothing but up hill, down hill a few small towns to go through then once you get to the receiver you pull through the gate and you'll see dropped trailer at about 1 o'clock. I parked there then walked to my left by the corner of the 2 buildings. There were a couple loading docks that they do the receiving at. Not the ones at the front side of the building, but to the right side corner. They had parking there among the dropped trailers. I asked the yard jockey if I could stay there until my clock caught up with me and he said yes, no problem.
Make sure you get the directions from the broker, they where exactly right, you'll be going in at night so it will be a little more difficult. It'll feel as though you will be climbing Waltons Mountain. But if you do it slow you'll be able to make all the turns.

Thanks JB I have 683 miles to go so my last 15 will be od or late del I have never been late other than 2 times waiting on tires to get replaced on the side of the road. I will be getting there right at mid night.
JohnBoy Thanks this. -
I was fortunate to bring that masonry load from Broken Bow Oklahoma to the Wytheville yard.BB I will be dropping a HP load in Wetherton CT near Hartford and preplanned with a backhaul from Branford CT SO I don't think I'll make it. I'll leave it with Sally next time I'm in the office. BTW Radio works real good. Spending the night here at the Woodrow Wilson on the NJ turnpike. Will start at 4am to finish the 172 miles. Boy, running the gauntlet didn't payoff likewise but at least I had Rebelchick as company until she dusted me on the turnpike. She's got a Volvo and I got a MACK which does 67 on cruise and 1 more on the pedal. She's just a better driver than I am. Yeah I said it.

Oh, puleeze!!!!! You just got stuck behind some grannies! You were doing great. I had to beat feet for my 6 pm appt at Hall's. Made it with 5 minutes to spare before the appt and with 10 minutes of drive time left. Was unloaded and out of there in 2 hours. I got a pickup at Honey Something or other in the am and will be heading back to the yard. Came to the svc plaza wanting something bad for me to eat, but I was disappointed because this is the plaza that is shut down for renovations and only has fuel. Not even a restroom. Ugh! Oh well, I didn't need junk food anyway.

How do we get directions in the qual comm corrected. Just want them so the next driver can get here with no issues.
Thanks -
Honestly it depends in how lazy or overworked your FM is!!send it in via freeform. Your responsible only for your effort, the outcome depends on them acting! Ive always sent it in on the QC and then emailed Tim. But Tim responds 10 tomes quicker via email!YardDart Thanks this.

Well I del. the load to Stanley, Va. I got there at 11:15 pm they woke me up at 4:30 saying if you want back into a dock well off load u now. I departed at 9:30 this morning and being daylight all I can say is wow. Those 6% hills and sharp turns with wt being 78k plus. So know I'm at pilot in Harrisonburg, Va waiting for a sriver with a BH load going to Brooklyn and final in Edison. I've managed to avoid it for my first 8 weeks is there a place to park at the BH at Edison? Thanks and be safe everyone.

Are you going to Edison first or Brooklyn? In any event, there's plenty on site parking at Edison.
