Nexus devices get updates direct from Google. No need to wait for a carrier to update your device to the latest os. If there is a vulnerability, Google is able to push out the update right away. Some carriers, and manufacturers, are notorious for being painfully slow for updates.

I have been using straight talk for 4 or 5 years now. I drop more calls here in ne alabama at my house than I do on the road.that only happens because I am so extremely rural.10-11 miles to the nearest traffic light.
-
If ya have a blue tooth ya can minimize those dropped calls by placing your phone next to a sheet of aluminum foil laid flat it will act as an antenna.
-
Then. You. Turn. The. Phone. OFF.

I'm super happy with my Galaxy3, it works well, great call quality, fantastic screen, etc. I'm rooted and locked down, and very careful with my apps (and I'm not dumb enough to do banking thru it). And Google Maps is da bomb. -
Get the otter box defender. You won't regret it

I had one on my iPwn, I hated it.
I don't even use a screen protector on this one, I'm very careful. Plus, I have a Body Glove case with raised edges that have saved the screen a few times. -
The best case for an iPhone is the Life Proof case. Not as bulky as the Otter, and it's water proof.
