It's not that I want to be a guy that just bends over and takes it but I don't want to be a guy that always complains either. My last home time it got into it with my DM about home time and when I thought I was coming back out. It was partially my fault and partially his. I'm a way I am too nice of a person on things but in another like this situation yesterday I literally have no choice in the matter. They will do it no matter what so if I want to run just I-5 then I have to take it. Now that being said I and seriously contemplating going back OTR or western 11

No western 11 fleet here. But take that for what it's worth I might want to run the 11

Colorado regional spends most their time in the western 11 in my experience and they get paid % of the load. Supposed to be big money. I've heard some less than savory things about the guy running that fleet though.

That was my goal as well... and I'd say I've pretty much achieved that status..

It can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I get saddled with the load that somebody forgot and now has to be in Tacoma at the last possible minute. They know I'm the guy who can and will get it there.

On the other hand, I get treated pretty well when it comes to loads. I'm usually hauling freight while other guys are sitting in the yard.

This week was a good example.

Coming off my vacation, they had me planned for a local delivery Monday morning followed by a load headed for Utah. When the Utah load got pushed out to Wednesday, they could have left me waiting in the yard for freight.

Instead, they hooked me up with a double-drop Genie load finaling in Saskatchewan. Somebody else got to do the local and sit around all day.

Coming out of Canada, they asked me if I could grab a load of poles out of Galloway and drag it to the yard. I was already at the border 1.5 hours past Galloway when they got ahold of me. Instead of complaining, I turned around and drove back for the poles.

When I got back to the yard yesterday afternoon, they told me they had me planned on a GARCO load picking up today and delivering monday in Calgary... a recipe for a lot of sitting around waiting.

My DM asked if I was interested in working the weekend, instead. I said, "Sure."

He called me back about 20 minutes later with a change of plan. Instead of the GARCO load, I'm gonna spend today preloading Haakon units, and tomorrow I'll be grabbing a Genie out of Moses Lake bound for Grande Prairie, AB.

I'm learning to just bite my tounge and keep things to myself and do the best for them. I usually notice the return favor when I want an extra day at home or things like that. The more I thought about it I ended up losing out on about 800 miles or so and a day at home but since there are 3 of us running right now I didn't have a choice so a Qualcomm message wouldn't work I don't think. Unloading at bralco in kent then heading back to ferndale to load ingots

Looks like I will be hanging out in the Chicago vicinity for the weekend. Anyone know any fun stuff to do? Thinking about checking out some of the infamous Chicago Pizza and maybe going on a evening cruise for dinner on Lake Michigan.

What's your window looking like according to your trip plan?

I should have about a 1.5 hr window on this one. They tend to forget I'm not in a cabover with paper logs and 68 mph top speed anymore. Stopped in wildwood fl today and checked out the truck show down here drooling over some chrome

So I'm here in Texas and the sky has turned a rather unnatural color and it just started raining like crazy. Gonna be a long night.. If the sirens go off I'm making a run for the truckstop
