I worked for FFE for about 3 months back in 2008. I could not get away from that joke of a company fast enough! My very first run out of the house after orientation they had me spend 7 of my available 11hrs driving around Houston shuttling trailers. at 1500 I was dispatched to Galveston, TX. to the Del Monte dock to pick up Bananas going to the Wally World Distro center in Cheyenne, WY. I depart Galveston at around 1700 (2 hrs left of my 11). I get to just north of Houston on I45, and shut down at a rest area. I tell dispatch on the Qualcomm that I am stopping for the night, and will probably be late for the Delivery. The night dispatcher actually tells me to violate the HOS because the delivery "cannot be late!" I responded that it was FFE's fault for having me run around Houston all day burning up my hours.

Dispatch had me drop the load in Dallas, and hand it off to another driver. On the bright side, the night dispatcher was fired after I did a forward of the entire conversation to safety. I have a lot more stories about those lying ########, but I don't want to hijack a thread.

Anybody know how the ltl side is? My cousin wants to go through their refresher course and then go ltl with them. Mainly she wants to know about home time.

Don't know what it is now, but back then it one day off for every week out. 3 weeks out minimum. If you happened to stop by the house even for a night, it counted and you started all over again.

Do yourself a favor.....stay away from FFE/KLLM.... if you go to school there understand that GREG PEACE..is a lying sack of #### and is only out for himself....he will give less than 2 ##### about you after you get through the course. There are reasons why instructors leave there...G.P..!!! you have been warned

so from your post, i see we went to FFE Academay around the same time. lol. i ended up walking away after 3 weeks on the road with a perverted trainer who after the 2nd day slept in the seat while i drove. problems with his wife constantly, and he would not stop anywhere except a freaking denny's to eat. he also would not allow any food on the truck. sorry to say i had to walk away, but just couldn't take it any longer. anyway, i have been driving otr ever since and i am talking to KLLM about leasing a truck and running Tyson Dedicated. if you have any info on the run please let me know. thanks
