3 weeks out with TMC living in Florida. I average $4000 a week to the truck, normal take home is $1000. I maintain between 30-31% of revenue. On my way home today, will be there tonight. Extended this trip 1 week after I was offered a load to Washington state. Will have been out 24 days grossed $17,500 to the truck which is a $1312 gross week for me. I do full per diem so only $900 is taxable.

Once released in your truck remember your fleet manager has 45 drivers. Of those he/she has 5-10 they know they can count on. It is going to take you awhile to become part of that group. Do not get pissed, in their face, or raise hell. That is not what you want to be known for. Grind out 5 loads a week every week with little ######## and that will go a long way. Before too long you will see your daily load pay at the $800 level not the $600.

Good luck, don't hit anything. You'll piss me off you go fn up our csa score.

melton.TMC CSA scores.jpg CSA score was fairly high from what I checked a few hours ago. Im considering TMC myself, but their CSA score for maintenance is higher than Melton's is. However Melton was over on their unsafe driving scores just a few months ago.

If you're judging on the csa, that'll be fun for you. Our maintenance is up cause we're filtering out our 06/07 rigs. They're up right around 1 million miles haha. You'll see it drop in the next quarter or what not. Choose a company for how they treat their drivers, how they work for your lifestyle, how they pay, and maybe tale some advice from drivers. TMC also has a lot of room for growth. Melton just has...flatbed, Tmc has specialized, boats, dedicated, and a very wide range of freight. I don't know a ton about Melton, but they tarp about everything they can. I like their blue kenworths, but I like the black and chrome much better.

My decision is being based on a number of things not just csa scores, that's just one facet, and yes I know they are changing out the fleet for the new petes. I'm going to call brad today and check in with him and see what's up with my application

That's were I am. Got some nice experience and certs, but got to go were at least someone will be happy to see you. No one likes IT folks because when they need us, there crap is broke and they usually did it to themselves. "Hey IT guy, my mouse won't work. Sir, you need to turn your computer on for the mouse to work."

    Rant over.

Need to get back on the road and get a change of scenery, can't wait!

I hear you loud and clear! I was typically helping other engineers do things they felt themselves to be too good or too advanced to handle. Running cables, repairing hardware. plugging in the occasional mouse. Love the "Level 3 Infrastructure Engineer" "Hey, this console station isn't working what did you do?" Ugh... seems someone unplugged the keyboard or mouse. "Can you come over and fix it?" Give me a break.

I hear you on the Certs too, MCSE, Citrix, A+ N+ SEC+, etc. etc. etc. Its great when you're looking for work, but in the grand scheme of things their worthless in 2 years. the money and time you spend re certifying literally can take up all of your free time.
