We'll stuff it in there, even if we have to use a broomstick like they did in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons...

When I entered the trucking business I was 23 and was barely making 160 a week working at a pizza shop at the mall. So, pretty broke. I quit for a while and reentered into it when I was completely unemployed and going nowhere. That CDL is a lifesaver to fall back on. I am not trucking now but trucking led me to the nice place in my life I am at now, lot of money to be made trucking which is why I am considering reentering into it

I started at the farm got money from my father when I needed it. When I started driving in the oilfields it was like I had just won the lottery.

It might be more to your advantage to get into it and stay, positions opening up with more drivers retiring early, plus MAP21 regs, and EORB's....if it all happens, might see an even deeper driver shortage

Very humbling post. Exactly what I reminded myself when the days, dispatches and highways get rough. When I started, I had about $40 in my pocket and 2 packs of cigarettes. A very patient new wife and a newborn. When it seems easy to complain and whine, I always think about the struggle just getting through orientation. Trucking isnt easy, but a hardworking and determined man can make it. I ran hard, made dumb mistakes and learned fast. I remember those tough days....promised my wife I would drive my ### off to take care of her and through God's grace we made it. This post really has me thinking back.....

When drivers complain about everything under the sun, I remember days when I couldn't wait to wake up and my direct deposit would be in by the time I woke. I remember the great feeling of sending money home. I remember applying advice and watching it pan out. I remember where I came from. Always will.
