Probably worse! I think it might be better put, "most 6.0 & 6.4 owners in this business are anxious to trade up to the 6.7". There are a lot of them out there even still!

All I know is I got tired of dumping money into my 98.5 Dodge. The Fords I have owned have been much more reliable. The Cummins engine was great, it was the Dodge parts that kept breaking. Loved the truck, but it was worse than a teenager without a job.

The only problem I have had with the F450 so far was the thermostat recall. Had a bad thermostat which caused a radiator leak. The radiator went first and the warranty covered it. Once I did the pcm software upgrade (free) it caught the bad thermostat and Ford replaced it for free. What I didn't like is after the pcm upgrade, when it found the thermostat problem the truck went into limp mode while I was on the interstate. Freaked me out when it did it. Once I got it all figured out things have been great.

    No other problems yet.

Personally I would be using the new 6.7 but I haven't heard of anybody using them here. I can see people still using a 6.0, the later years were much better and they actually had less warranty claims than the 7.3 but the 6.4 was a monster all it's own. Someone needs to get in the business of ford bodies with the 6.7 cummins and Allison tranny.

I have found Ford to be a far better truck too. The only issue Iv ever had with our 08 F350 was the DPF filter clogged and had to be replaced at 125,000k. Once we did that the mpg doubled and I have yet to see any year dodge out pull it on the hills. I'm looking forward to getting the 2015 F450.
I think there may be a good reason why Ford outsell all other manufacturer's truck' combined 3 : 1!

I want that for my signature. I fully agree, I love my cummins but I'd rather it be in a ford. Which I heard a rumor ford may be contracting with cummins. Hopefully true

Foxcover, are you getting a 4x2 or 4x4? I don't know much about the 6.0 or the 6.7. Ned is correct on the cost of the 6.4 though. Really the F450 in general. It is a costly truck when something breaks. That radiator was north of $800 just for the radiator without labor.

I think you may be confused in saying the 6.0 was better than the 6.4.
Your profile says your out of AZ, go sit on I40 or I10 for half an hour and tell me you don't see any 2010 or newer Fords out there! Last time I was in Tuscon there were more than I could count.

Wasn't the 6.0 a Navistar or International motor?

The new F450 only comes in 4x4. They are all costly to replace any major parts, I just found the Fords didn't nickel and dime me to death.

Yes, which are one of the same. Both the 6.0 and 6.4 were made by them. The same engine was in the small international trucks without a turbo.
