Agreed.
way to many people expect to be coddled and have a job served up on a silver platter.
Refreshing to hear somebody taking initiative.
good luck to you!

Hi guys. I am new on this forum but I read all of it in past months. It's a great source of knowledge I must say.
I just came from Ontario some time ago, have my Class 1 and some experience hauling water on ice roads last winter ( loved it), also 2 weeks as vac truck operator on directional drilling rig (hated it). These were all Class 3 jobs but I would love to start driving Class 1. Any ideas who would hire a guy like me. I have all my tickets and I am ready to relocate pretty much anywhere in Alberta for the right opportunity. -
Is anyone in the Nisku/Hinton area see any hiring signs for class 1 drivers? After I take my H2S Alive Ill be driving out there, sleeping in my car or whatever going from door to door. I've sent out resume and filled out applications for the last 2 weeks and haven't gotten any bites.
I'm a relatively new driver with 2 months experience doing flat deck work. I've driven a 13 speed, 15, 18 and automatic. I know how to strap, cable, tarp and chain up etc. and I have some mountain/snow/ice experience as well.
Pretty much looking for a camp job or somewhere with accomodations. Wouldn't even mind sleeping in a truck every night. Don't matter to me. Would love to do oil hauling or something along those lines. Open to anything.
I'm just not sure how the break-up situation works. -
But do you have any mud experience? I'd give it a bit before heading out in hopes of finding a job in the spring right away. Also, camp jobs... Few and far between. Don't get your hopes up especially in that area.

Ah, okay. Thanks, Nate. Yeah, even if it's not a camp job and I have to sleep in a truck and survive off Kraft Dinner and hot dogs for awhile I don't mind. I'm itching for work, can't stand sitting at home rotting away it's driving me mad haha. One can only watch so much Game of Thrones and food network.
Pretty much just looking for something on rotations..15/6 or similar. Don't care what it is as long as it's driving and I'm getting some off road experience (Yeah, no mud experience yet ) -

Driving, loading and unloading, filing tickets and rolling in the mud for the last few training days now. Basically having fun. Got stuck today in the mud for the first time with my boss, tow arrived within an hour, pulled us to the loading point, and then out of the pad and onto a lease road. Will be doing morning shifts for now, until I get familiar with the leases and local roads.

I have just been offered a job with Clean Harbors in Arcola Sask. Operating Vac and combo vac. doing mostly tank cleaning. I have only operated water truck before for the last few winters in ft mac. Just curious of the work involved and if anyone has stayed down in that camp
