7 Feathers truck stop, not the casino. A whole whopping 360 miles today in 8 hours. I see why we do not go to Toldeo. A real pain. Was not that bad this morning going in, then coming out when everybody is getting on the road, what a mess through those resort towns. The real fun for me, brought back memories of being in the Coast Guard stationed in OR and seeing the sign coming into Newport, OR.

Yes, Mystic, I am going to get that little routing fixed in the morning. Get that extra pay. Between Toledo and I-5, 5.1mpg, and I am far from pulling hills

Loves in Gallup, NM. Non-stop winds all the way from Texas, 30 - 40 mph. Fuel economy dropped from 8.3 in Texas to 6.1. Maybe I shouldn't have taken out the little air cell spacer.

At my usual TA in Greencastle, PA (I-81 x5) for a 34. Parked with fewer than 2 hours left on my 70, and 4 came back at midnight. Couple of places here to pick up free WiFi, so I foresee some Netflix tomorrow. :)

It keeps going north in Washington, through Forks (famous for the Twilight series but really logging central in years past), up and across the top of the Olympic Peninsula, going through Port Angeles and Port Townsend, then down the east side of the Peninsula to I-5 in Olympia, Washington.

For those of you who ride, that is an AWESOME ride in July and August. Other months and you're likely to get hit by the infamous rain on the western side of the Olympics, home of the rainforest with over 200 inches of rain per year. Be sure to check out the Hoh River trail in the rainforest, absolutely enchanting.

Yes, Sonny's. I had the dry rubbed ribs and almost regretted not getting the "all you can eat" for $2 more. As it was I enjoyed my meal and left full and satisfied.

Sitting in the TA in Hebron, KY just south of Cincinnati. I finished my laundry and was just about to go out to the truck to hit the bunk when an intense thunderstorm hit. Waiting it out, the parking lot's got at least 3-6" of water running through right now.

The good thing about running this dedicated coast to coast gig is we've been consistently running 5000-6000 miles per week. The bad thing is this account only has planners on duty during the day shift on weekdays, and when we have a weekend like this last one then it's worse than being OTR...

... we ran from LA to deliver a load Friday morning, then ran 50 miles to pick up our back haul only to find out it was cancelled just before we got there...

... went back to the terminal and got another dispatch to go pick up a load late Friday to run to New Jersey, then hook up with a JIT load headed to Las Vegas...

... sat until Saturday afternoon only to find out the load up to Jersey finally was cancelled, which meant we couldn't grab that JIT load...

... finally got a dispatch to pick up a load in Chattanooga to deliver here in Hebron, with another load JIT headed to Sacramento...

.... I make the Hebron delivery, but just before we arrive find out the Sacramento load has been cancelled.

So I finally call our DM at 5:00 am Jurupa Valley time and he's shocked we aren't sitting at our home terminal on a 34 hour reset.

Problem is that no planner wants to "mess with" our dedicated account, so we've been sitting with our thumbs up our anal orifi for over 60 hours so far this week....

.... for a team operation that doesn't work well for us or for the company. If they want to be dedicated to the customer, then they need to be DEDICATED in the planning department. Part time doesn't qualify as dedicated in my book.

swift has been bugging me for 2 weeks now calling me and leaving voicemails that im eligible to become a L/O and to call them for more info bla bla, they only need to call me once. Guess the lady doesnt get the hint im not interested right now.

went to Van nuys and then a trip to Tulare, tomorrow heading up that 101 for Salinas which I have not been to in awhile, going to try and get fuel opened on the way back in Lost Hills for Loves since I only need 22gallons more to hit Platinum level for next month plus a $10 bonus. I should be home Tuesday and Wednesday so will be my last chance to get the fuel for the month.

    Walmart in London, OH.

Back on the road again. Picking up a load to Rochester, NY at 1800. Had to pick up a new flashlight seeing as I dropped mine in the river on home time. Didn't find the mag lite that I wanted but found a good 135 lumen rechargeable here for $40 with a 2 year replacement plan. The mag lite that I used to carry is usually $30 but I buy batteries for it about once a month and it wasn't quite as bright so I'm pleased.

After reading my last paragraph I just realized my life is much more interesting when I'm home rather than out on the road. Life on the road is interesting but some days it does seem as though my daily objectives (outside of work) while on the road are a little more boring and less important when put into perspective.
