Too cold for shorts, but only chilly if you have jeans and a long sleeved shirt.

I just came out of MN, and it was snowing.

According to my Command broker, this morning, they are adding 75 O/O from the list now and 200 more this summer. Hopefully they get the discrepancy with Swift's rate calculator straightened out soon as well.

Ely, NV with a paper load that actually turned out to be 12k as stated in the dispatch. I had suspicions it was another load with the weight intentionally understated. If it had been I would have called the Phoenix planner I talked to yesterday and had it removed. I will not be a party to deceptive trade practices. Headed to near one of my favorite terminals for a Friday delivery in Idaho.

Here iin Otay with a bunch of other trucks. Tried to send me a pplan, take a load up to Mira Loma and then live load in Long Beach for Iowa. Some how with a home date of the 5th in El Paso, that was just not going to work. Mystic and Steve, try 3100 miles of the mntn and hills and headwinds and quarterly winds. Finished up the week at 6.3. That put a big hurt on the next settlement. Told DM, any load that is not heading out East on 8, do not even bother to send. I WANT OUT OF CA. Coming down Tejon was a ball today. Construction that split the 3 lanes up, and the truck lane, went to 1, and that was getting ready to start to pull another section. My truck will NOT be see CA any time soon again, and forget the NW.

I have to admit that I have not been that impressed with the load board lately. After I was taken off Matt and Joe, I have only taken 2 loads in the last 3 months. Get south and want to sent me to Denver, and once to Pittsburgh with HAZ MAT, and still the Swift rate. I seem to get in the areas that are bad for them and Swift.

I still don't know a lot about the load board, but I understand how it pays. what is the discrepancy with Swift's rate all about? Looks like I'm in for a new learning curve again.

There's a high wind warming til 15:00 today. And threatened warnings posted for high winds on the mountains. Just a heads up.... anyways there's ALOT of freight in Otay but bad part most of that stuff hasn't crossed the border and is still dispatched to someone. Happened to me 3 times in the last month.

Been watching that high wind warnings. Had some coming down I-5 yestetday. Was sent a pplan, Costco live in San Diego going to slc. I have home req for Monday in El Paso. Do not see how that will work and tired if pulling nothing but the hills.

Finally got a good load, 14k going to Olive Branch, MS which I planned to drop on Sat, and now, that is not going to happen. I-8 is shut down just east of Alpine due to the winds. Forecast shows winds not dying down until tomorrow afternoon. They are saying that just east of Los Angeles, winds gusting to 80. The winds here are around 35 from the East with some serious gusts.

Well, they opened up and got as far as the Acorn Casino. They are bad. Saw one trailer with the wheels come up some. I do not need it. They are saying that there are winds down in San Diego gusting up to 103. Watching the forecast. Probably out of here tomorrow if the forecast does not change. We will see. I have seen winds up here, but never this bad.

denver terminal. left rock springs wy at 0700 and was at rawling springs when i saw the electronic board saying i_80 closed to cheyenne wy. went into flying j and squirmed my way into a parking spot in the very back.sat about 4 hrs before it reopened. my phone has no reception in wyoming so couldnt check 511. had to rely on the cb reports. winds were pretty strong and had only about 7000 in the box. signs were saying 35mph + but dont think they were that strong. not sure why the closure, but some said ice and some said wind. roads were dry all the way here.
