WHERE OH WHERE are you reading all this into what's been said? You're assuming a whole lot based on nothing that anyone said...you're just going on your own little theories! NO ONE said anything about their equipment being bad! This is how rumors get started!
What I will point out is that you keep referring to Martin, not Marten. Are you referring to the same company, or a different one...I know there's a Martin, as well.
What would you do in this situation? Let go for a blown tire

Lady, I don't know why you're being so defensive here. You asked US a question and it seems you don't like the answer you're getting.
I've been around trucks my entire life. I've never heard of a tire blowing out because a driver downshifted improperly or used his service brakes too hard. I suggest asking your husband for the correct story or at least know how to interpret his story correctly before asking the question again.
Anything here is going to be purely speculation as to the cause of the blowout. Could have been numerous reasons but without finer details no one will be able to help you for certain.Studebaker Hawk, pattyj and justa_driver Thank this. -
I never said they had bad equipment, you and I are on the wrong page. What I gathered from your other post to me when you asked if I read other Marten threads you was talking about the equipment.A thousand apologies for coming to that conclusion.Do we have to make such a huge deal out of what I said????????????????????????????????????????????????????
justa_driver Thanks this. -
Don't really see where you owe her an apology. She came on here and asked a question, most gave her the best answer they could give her but she seems unhappy with the answer so its just something she'll have to work out for herself?pattyj Thanks this.

Marten or Martin ? 2 different companies . Just because he made a mistake (maybe a costly one) that does not mean he should quit driving ! We all made mistakes in the beginning . But , he should just look for a new place to work , many companies hiring . All the facts would be needed to know the entire story . Support his decision is all you can do . Good luck .

It could be as simple as still on probation, and they dont need a reason. Just move on. If he screwed up hopfully he learned his leason. If he didnt he wouldnt want to work for a company that throws you out like that anyway. Call a lawyer or find a better job. Or both. Or nither or some combination of any sugestion you may have heard. Sorry just covering my ###.
tbrown_sd and justa_driver Thank this. -
Yea, no one just gets fired solely from a blown tire.
I bet somethin serious happened and he's embarrassed to tell ya.
Ive blown a tire before rollin down the road. Pull to the shoulder safely, call for repair and be on your way.
You have drivers with 20+ years here, can't just come out the wood work with some half told story and expect em to believe...justa_driver, Joetro and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
Actually I was being sarcastic when I apologized.
justa_driver Thanks this. -
Just so you know, he was told that he was being terminated for the situation because HE WAS IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT! IF IT HAD HAPPENED AFTER THAT HE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TERMINATED!
As for coming out with a half told story - put your reading eyes on and leave your judgment to someone else!!holycow Thanks this. -
back to the original question, Yes Marten was justified in terminating his employment... Blew a tire, not a big deal, but destroyed the brakes also, a big deal, and only his first run.
tbrown_sd Thanks this.
