Listen C.R. England Wow, not to badmouth the entire company(recent England van wreck in cali yo!) But even if you must receive company sponsored training(which most of us poor American citizens have to, but try not to get taking advantage of) Crap England takes new recruits, trainees, & students gets thousands upon thousands from the "guvment", gives you a impatient, rude, ill-tempered, sometimes very racists trainer who's been driving professionally himself for about 2 years to miss- train you and put you down verbally & try to discourage you instead of teaching you & instructing you, seeing that you are a completely new driver to get you to quit so you can owe them even more $ for the tuition they paid. Do yourself a favor save yourself time and money & DON'T DO IT. If you must get company sponsored training get it from some other outfit like USA Trucking. If the school wants to give you C.R. ap England to go through say NO trust me, I was warned- I didn't listen, I got the bad trainers right out of school had to go over the road with the likes of satan some guy from buffalo,NY- really, really bad personal hygiene 15 days 2 showers from APRIL 8th to the 22nd, I was driving the guy was constantly picking his nose, he wore shorts the whole time sometimes he would kick his feet up on the dash aaaand not goin to tell you where else he was digging at. The guy NEVER washed his hands I would see him in the truck stop bathroom about 5 or 6 times he urinates and leaves out, No water, No soap, No hands washed None of the times, Oh and the smell when he kicked his shoes off aaaagh!!! It was like I got punched in the nose,((REPEATADLY)) brought tears to my eyes . Thank God for air freshener, & hand sanitizer which I sanitized the shifter, steering wheel, door handles, buttons. Me and this chump really didn't get a long in the end after starting off ok, just because a person has experience Does Not make that person a good trainer, or teacher which I got neither at CR England so happy to be out of there & not in debt to them. Just because a company pays for your training & you are new and. . not a proven pro- driver, DOES NOT MEAN a company should do you how they feel, or the people that work for that company. Most recruits at C.R. are expendable and they know it they're trapped, there don't be the next victim. I've read about the shortage of drivers' in the industry maybe it's because of places like this, should be investigated but probably won't seeing that the companies such friends with the gov't Peace.
C.R.(ap) England DON'T

Was this trainer black? Reason I ask is because another person had a problem with a CRE trainer being giving him a hard time since he was White.

You have no idea how "bad" is until you try to do something with England. This is no lie. You can literally have an 80,000 pound rig traveling down the same highways your family members use, with both drivers having no more than 60 days experience, COMBINED!!! One is a trainer, one is a student. The student doesn't know this. Another big problem.....England has a Hershey Chocolate account, in Hershey, PA. They have to have 125 trucks per day for loads. It's their account. If you're stuck there, you potentially have a six state radius of 120 miles that you could be delivering to. It's a horrible way to spend 2 weeks, and , no miles means...no pay. Do not, under any circumstances, have anything to do with these people, who think they will never be sued for "Illegal business practices."
CougFan Thanks this. -
I thought CR England was one of the best companies out there...guess I better do some research.
Shaggy, Joetro, Guitar Man and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oh yes one of the best lol -
From the looks of the OP's writing, I'm guessing he's black, and the trainer was white.
In any event, he is definitely not alone. C.R. England threads abound here.Shaggy and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
No sorry both of my trainers were caucasian & I am of the african american/native american persuasion the first trainer wasn't blatantly racist to my knowledge he was a 75 year old italian american guy a two time heart attack survivor & 19 yr truck driving vet (7 w/C.R) he had the knowledge & experience I wanted to look up to, could be a great
mentor except that they first put me with him on a fast paced walmart & sams club dedicated account out of Sterling, Il only thing is the guy had three or four drops a day he was always in a rush, very impatient & had a bad temper for someone in a teaching position everything bothered the guy can see where the heartattacks came from somethin goes wrong at home or with the wife he's mad, some guy temporarily blocks the loading dock his mad to long to get a load, drivers don't want to fuel at night and the a.m. it's long line or wait to grill guess what, Walmart associate peez him off hey guess who the anger gets takin out on? And I am not one to want to give the guy a 3rd stroke, especially w/ so much seniority but hey I am a new guy(driver) new guys make mistakes correct me scold me don't put me down don't discourage me and don't talk too me like I am less than zero or human. Anyway I had started making improvements that last wk, I see the still wasn't satisfied & I got moved to OTR in Burns Harbor, In now that's where I meet up w/ Stanky my next trainer now he was racist but that's a whole moths Delly post -
I meant waiting to fuel the guy would get boiling mad w/ the 2nd trainer I meant that's a whole other smelly posts
-

Good luck with the transition, and it certainly sounds like you've made the right choice to move on.
