For all you guys that want to haul chemicals/ bulk tanker, you might want to steer clear of Rohm Haas, a Dow co out of Deer Park, near Pasadena TX.
Besides the petty rules and regs that they bestow on you, the first time I loaded there it took them 11 hrs to do it. For whatever reason, they insist on having to sample the load after they've loaded you.
I guess it's too much trouble to sample it before. Of course they messed up the sample and then had to re-sample it causing me to wait and wait. To top that even though I was almost out if hours security wouldn't let me stay on their lot so I could sleep. I had to move.
the second time, it was a little better, 8.5 hrs, same BS, can't do this or that, rules thru the young yang that made no sense.
A total disregard for our time and HOS.
needless to say, Rom Haas is on my black list, never again. At least I got a nice chunk of detention pay.

3 days to put the full load on.

Started at Texas Pipe, Sat all day in order for them to find 14 pcs of custom built joints. Finally found them way in the back by some hardly used work shed. Finally get paper work at 6:00 PM Day one ends

Day two Next morning over to the other yard for 24 more special coated pcs. These had not been finished, coating was not cured all the way. So across town to another yard for 17 pcs, but first we have to take off the pipe that is on the trailer, so unload, put on 17 pcs, then reload the first ones. That kills day two.

Day three, back to coating yard. all cured and ready to go. Lets go load.......Well the first pipe loaded that is on top.........You guessed right, has to come off, can't load over them. Unload top, load coated, reload customs. Finished up about 4:00 PM.

Was not so bad, was paid for the days plus they tossed in lunch and dinner for the time as well.

Mine was sitting in a dock door for about 26 hours at some freight forwarder place at the port of Oakland.
That delivery was only supposed to pay like $50 but after all the detention I got around $550.

Cant remember the name of the place. It was some custom medical equipment for a hospital. Just before loading it in the trailer I guess it had to go back and get recalibrated or what not. 48 hours later it was finally in. I was hooked up to that dock for 2 days.
