we can make a million laws about texting and cell phone use

    people will still do it

nytimes had a similar story last week, saying we need tougher laws

    $13,750 isnt enough?

today's cars are build of plastic and fiberglass. with only a steel frame and a few other misc parts. part of the gooberment regulations to get better mileage. make em lighter.

in no way do today's cars weight anywhere near as much as the car of yesteryear. which was build with metal and built like a tank.

my mom used to have a 73 full sized blazer. it weighed 5800. my 74 f250 weighed 5400. my dads 2013 excursion came in at 8500. WITH his 15 ft. camper trailer hooked up.

I haul Bentleys that weigh 6500#s and use SUV tires on them, Roll Royce's are heavier. Little Sedans push 4000 lbs with all the safety equipment, computers and such in them. A new Mustang Shelby GT is right under 4000. The cars aren't any lighter, they want you to believe they are, but they aren't.

If you're dumb enough to get caught not hands free, you deserve the fine, it's too simple and cheap to comply. States like ky have allocated mucho dollars just to combat texting while driving, I'm sure other states have as well, easy money, driver beware!

That guy is never getting a job like that again. Paratransit companies are VERY strict when it comes to cell phones. Most don't even allow you to use the radio while driving, they disable them. It's because the invalids and welfare moochers in the back are very sue happy.
