I doubt many people would argue for going so slowly, especially from a safety standpoint.

Wow , they really have you brain washed don't they ?

Yea , hell lets lower the speed , maybe then swift drivers can keep their trucks on the road. Lol

My point is that their singular mantra reduces to obsurdity and is therefore not logical as given. Their argument must be balanced by other concerns. I would think a reasonable person would have seen that from my previous post, but I'll take it further just to prove the point.

The absolute safest speed from their argument would be zero, and since that is the singular element of their argument, then anything above that is not the safest practice. Let's see how much freight we deliver.

Ok , here is a good one .
I was traveling up I65 today in Indiana , there was a ton of traffic , people slamming on their brakes just causing one hell of a mess . I get a little farther up , and guess what , here is a truck going 58 in a 65 . Now the amount of people changing lanes to get around him was bad. Now with that said . Their are always going to be people that want to go faster , but those cars had no clue he was going that slow until , boom right on his ###.

At a higher speed it allows merging a bit safer , because most are going similar to the same pace...

One day , these slow trucks are gonna cause accidents , and if they keep pumping more people out of their school , then peope on welfare pump out babies , then things are gonna get a little scary. ..

Edit : forgot to say that 65 was truck speed limit ,
    Car speed limit was 70......

Tell that to the guy at almost rear ended me this morning....
In 75 zone going down hill, I hit 66, I hit the jake and tap the breaks. There was a truck behind me who had to be doing 75+ whipped to the left lane at the last minute he almost hit me but then his trailer whip around and came even closer....
He was calling me every name he could think of. I just told home to packet where he sits and if he didn't like it to "call Swift! I am following the artificial self exposed company speed limit. ##### to them and not to me!"
at that point I just turned the radio off....

You know what is funny? When I'm going 65, I get past by Swift trucks all the time and they are going a lot faster than 68!

If the reason for slower speed limits is safety, then why is there three different speed limits?

sorry guys I have to call BS on that one!

I'm quoting myself so that maybe SOMEONE would actually READ what I said.

I said that few would argue FOR going so slowly!

Is there a reading comprehension problem here, or just people that don't comprehend what they read?

An excellent point. They want to shut down any contrary argument by declaring what "safe" is, so that those who disagree are "unsafe." Then they can't even decide on a single "safe" speed.

Yes, I know it is the same thing.

The point is that none of you actually READ what I wrote. You just responded to what you thought I was writing.
Wrongly, because I was not supporting ever slower speeds with that statement. Quite the opposite.
