Day complete, sitting at the Loves in Amarillo. I'll be up and in the shower at 6am and headed east at 7:30. I have 1370 miles to go for delivery. Today was a good day, 719 miles. I'm now officially working off my recap. I have 5.30 left on my 70 but start picking up hours after midnight.

This pay period has been a complete fuster cluck. It started ok with a 880 mile run to Belvidere IL and went to heck in a handbasket after that. Let's just say reefer loads are not my favorite thing. 4,5 hours to load in Minooka IL, 4.5 hours to unload in Cincy, back to load in the middle of my break in Belvidere (only place that's fast) and deliver in the wee hours tomorrow to Wal-Mart distribution in New Albany MS. And we all know how long that's going to take!!!
But here's the kicker...yesterday I told Walter I need at least 3000 more miles to salvage this check from just bs to merely s$%&. Today he says deliver this in the morning and go to Forrest city for ... Wait for it ... MONDAY morning pick up. WTF?!?! Did I not just say I need to roll???? Yes, I have friends in Memphis and would love to hang out with them, but I only have 1725 miles after this delivery. So, after some back and forth, I deadhead to Miami after unloading to pick up a load of flowers. Why in the world did I have to friggin beg for miles this week? Unusual. -
Oh, and if you ever deliver here, don't stay at the little place right at the distribution center. Nasty nasty nasty.
gntorres61 Thanks this. -

My better half's name is Max and he is looking for a better company to drive for. I want to relocate to my birthplace which is Richmond, VA. Looks like Abilene could work out for both of us. Thanks for the info. -
Closest I'll stay to Memphis is the TA in Earle Arkansas. Thanks for the warning, Rebelchick!

I was the one at 315 that parked beside you on my way out the gate. I had a refer. I always park there fpr a few minutes to go potty before hitting the road.

I guess I could have parked in a trailer spot but the train scares the hell out of me. Well I am stuck here all day as my load at Airgas in Hopewell is not ready until 2am Monday for delivery at 6am in Cordova MD on the eastern shore, then a backhaul back to Hopewell. My last solo run for awhile as I'll be joining Mike Green on a team truck until I get my shiznet together. Feeling melancholy. Oh well, life goes on. Warm in this truck. Got Windows down and sleeper fan on high and a Sam Cooke CD jamming on the stereo. May have to go inside to cool off. Oh saw Jim and Linda, you remember Johnboy? We broke bread at a Loves in New Mexico back when I trained with you. Good memories.
Deuces Abileenees.JohnBoy Thanks this.
