I know Prime has drivers dedicated to railex in Schenectady. Very close to my home. My question is do I talk to my FM about getting on that? Ive only been solo about a month and am a little discouraged about the lack of miles so far. Im averaging only about 1700 miles a week. Is it slow these days or what? Also I heard the dedicated drivers are guaranteed at least $1000 a week. Is this true as well? Any info on the railex account is welcome.

I would say talk to your FM and ask about the railex and about your miles. Since you have only been solo about a month the low miles may be your FM taking it easy on you to help you get settled in as a solo driver and part of may be him/her making sure you have your stuff together and can make your appt on time.

Yes I have to agree with cardinals1970 on this one. Just like you are getting a feel for the road as a solo driver now, your FM is trying to get a feel for you as well. He/she wants to monitor your on time percentages. No one wants to put a newbie on a dedicated account until they are comfortable that you can handle the route and not worry about your pick-up and delivery shortfalls. Be patient, but talk to your FM and see where he/she head is and then see what is needed to get you on this dedicated if there are any openings.

    Good Luck

That and the spring produce has been delayed by the cold and longer winter weather.

Between being a new driver and low produce this time of year this is what happens. Your FM is testing you now to see how you drive, give it some time then he will probably pound you to see how you handle that then you will have to ask for mercy LOL.

Also, the produce comming out of the west coast is going to be done this year due to the drought. I know here in NV, and yes we produce veg's the farmers are only getting 50 percent of the normal water. CA i heard is ALOT worse.
