If a Swiftie was going that fast you can be sure it was noticed.
That driver will probably be looking for a new job very soon.

tangerineGT Thanks this. -
I know its not my fault if some moron hits me , but I still don't want to deal with standing there for a hour or so waiting for the cops to show up , and fill out a police report, and thats not saying the douche bag that hit me won't somehow try and pin it as my fault somehow , and it seems like now a days even when its not our fault , it is our fault.

Well, things happen. All we can do is try to cover our own behinds.
But I won't be caught speeding (either by the posted speed or company rules) just to please a jerk that is tailgating me.
That might be the surest way of being 'at fault'. -
I'm all for being safe as I believe you are. But, I'd love to here some rational arguments for what is safe balanced with the duties of being a truck driver.
As a mentor, they tell us that we not only have to teach what to do, but also why we do it. This is a smart approach. But, the "why" that they preach for safety policy doesn't compute. I would like for them to stop treating us like children.tangerineGT Thanks this. -
I believe that these speeds are not determined by safety alone, but if they reveal that then they break there own argument for "safest practice." -
In line with my previous post, I would like to add what I'd like to see instead of a "safest practice" argument. I'd like to be given reason's to comply with a "best practices" model. I want a rational discusion of the whys of their policy instead of an argument that sounds like it came from a sixth grader.

Last tuesday in TN, I moved over in the lane behind one Swift truck that past me, I got the OnGuard to only lock on for a couple of seconds before he was out of range and it read 81. We were going down hill...tangerineGT Thanks this.
