Just wanted to let you guys and gals know a few things.
When you do your physical they WILL check your BMI and neck size..we lost 1 guy for it and they sent another guy for a sleep study(he lucked out).
I had a sleep study done last year so I was lucky.
If you get hit with a sleep study it will drop you to a 3 month medical card which means you CANNOT be a IC til you get it resolved.
You will only be allowed to get no less than a 1 year card to be brought onboard.
We lost a guy to high sugar levels as well..sent him packing and it cost him $2-300 to drive there(he was from somewhere out west).
Make sure you have all your documentation and you'll be fine.
Little info for new guyss headed to to Schneider

I'm sure the guys who read this will take note. Don't bother applying to Schneider. The sleep study test is not Govt mandated yet, but the big boys are getting in on the act. Because they love that control. Luckily there are better options out there than the Schneiders of this world.
Moving Forward and JChors Thank this. -
If you're so anti schneider why waste your precious time reading a schneider thread? No one is trying to convince you to come to schneider. I like schneider you don't but I'd never go to what ever company thread you work for and discourage any one.
mickimause, knuckledragger and VegasMan702 Thank this. -
why get on his case? isn't that what the op did also?
-
No, not at all. The OP was merely stating what to expect. The other poster was just stirring the pot. Schneider didn't do neck measurements or BMI stuff when I applied last year, so I'm assuming it must be new or perhaps specific to a few locations. I have a muscular neck(I wish I could built up my body like I can my neck LOL) and I might have had issues if they neck test me.

Did any of you IC newhires stop by the driver training center before orientation to look over your truck (if it's used) to see if it's ok. I stopped by a couple of hours ago. What a letdown. The T680 with 83k mi im supposed to pick up was obviously previously leased to a SLOB! I intend to own the truck outright, so im gonna be as picky as a buyer would be at a dealership. The pics i got couldn't show what an in-person inspection revealed. Man, i hope there's another truck option for me because this truck ain't it. I'll give Melissa a chance to make it happen, but if i'm told to pound sand instead i'll be headed back to Oregon.
I made the 2100 mi journey in 40hrs flat. Sucks that i might have to do that again! -
Only 83k and if it's a good deal I'd try to negotiate a professional detailing of the truck. Be a shame to miss a decent deal and a professional outfit should be a able to make it look (and smell) like new. Just a thought. BTW Oregon here also...

I was not trying to get on his case. Dogals was only trying to let driver's know what to expect. Dogals just left GB and has the info first hand. It's ok to say what ever he wanted just as it is for me to respond to his post.

I didn't get inside (locked) to check. When i asked Melissa to send me photos, the ones she send made it look as good as new. So i checked the file dates on the photos she sent me and they were from April of last year...when it WAS brand new! So i asked her to send pics in it's current condition. They were not closeups but i could see the mirror cover was missing, and the truck looked like it had never been washed.
My walk-around today showed the right bumper panel had been replaced (chrome washers mixed with factory painted washers- telltale sign). Scrapes on the drivers side cowling, greasy pigtail and steps, drivers seat and passenger seat do not match (they do on the other T680s parked there), emblems missing, mudflap hangers not the same as when new (compared the photos Melissa sent), def stains that were left to mark the paint. Pitted chrome. Just a lot of things that add up to a SLOB p/o. And i havent even gotten inside yet!
I want a truck that is well looked after. I might opt for .a new one Call me finicky but im the one who has to live in it for the next few years.mickimause Thanks this. -
BTW, I drove by the 'mothership' on my way to the training center. D@mn, it looks more like the NSA headquarters!
