Has antone replaced the stop cable anchor studs mounted in the hood? It appears the nut on the back of the stud is not accessible and turns when trying to unscrew the stud.

Is the nut inside the tubing frame of the hood?

It is a nutsert crimped into the inner hood support. I've had the best luck letting it soak with a good penetrating oil, then using an impact while putting side pressure on it. Hand tools just don't cut it when the nut starts to spin, you best luck is zipping it out fast with an impact.

If that doesn't work, to fix it right, you have to cut it off and replace the nutsert, but the old one falls inside and rattles around. I've only had to change a few and always got them out with the impact (knock on wood).

Thanks GrapeApe for your response to the hood stop post. I chose to make a bracket that mounts under the factory hinge pivot bracket at the bottom of the hood .It seems to work just fine using the new cable from Peterbilt. Iam wondering why Peterbilt did not do it this way. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Iam not much on computers yet.
