For Drivers seeking your CDL permit...

CDL permit Section 14 practice tests [Texas CMV Special Requirements Test--you must take and pass this test before you take any other tests...20 questions, passing grade 70; i.e. you can only afford 3 incorrect answers] are practically non-existant. I did happen across one decent one that's in PDF format, asking the same questions as are on the test:

Did you check the "CDL Practice Tests" on this website?

Looks like that test covers most of what you will see. Be ready for questions about the smaller vehicles that require a CDL, ie taxi cabs. You will have a couple of those on the test. Just read the question and understand it before answering and you will do fine.

    Bobcat Tail Thanks this.

Yes. This site has excellent tests on General Knowledge, Air Brakes, etc. But I have found VERY few sites, including this one that covers the CMV Special Requirements test (section14) which is the first test taken, required of all CMV drivers. You cannot take any other test until you pass it. This test actually gains you your permit; the rest are endorsments on your permit.

Boy I lost, I was told by my company that all they required was general knowledge, Air brakes, and combos testing before schooling. Went up to the DMV and well I found out the hard way. Somehow I was allowed to also take the combination test despite failing the section 14 and passed that easily.
