Im looking to upgrade my 2005 Freightliner Century. Im looking at a stainless steel visor with 9 LEDs called "Wicked" which is a 16" drop with a "V" in the middle kinda like a Batman "point". Question is some folks are saying my fuel milage will drop because of the flat profile and larger area. I am thinking that while that may be true I don't think it will affect it as much as they think. Has anyone changed their visor and did it affect milage to any significant degree? Also they have come out with a new set of headlights for the Century which look great and really change the look of the truck. My head lights are just about useless on low beam so I was wondering if anyone has changed to these new lights and if so how is the lighting? I know they change the bulbs from 9005 and 9006 to H7 and H9. Anyone have any input on either of these items would be really appreciated.

Not sure about the visor, but those headlight look nice. I have a 2004 and thinking about purchasing those lights, seen a truck from texas with them and they look pretty sweet. Not sure if the visibility has changed but the overall appearance looks great. I doubt that visor will drop fuel mileage much to effect anything. I've never been a fan of them on century or columbia because I don't think they look great against all that fiber glass.

Go for it though. IF it make you happy who cares what other think or say!

I would like to update my post. I have purchased and installed the new Century headlights and I've got to say "WOW!" Not only do they look great but they actually light up the road by an extra 300% to 400% over those crappy headlights, stock that is. This is not an exaggeration. I was worried that I would not be able to find H9 high beams until I realized the H7 low beams are all you need! We just went out for a week or so and used them on back roads with no other lighting other than the moon an they work fantastically! You get 90 degrees to the truck right down in the ditch all the way up the highway on both sides. The only time I used the high beams was to see what they looked like. To quote the vernacular OMG! I think I was signaling aliens on Jupiter!! I cant say enough good things about them. The ONLY drawback is in order to change your low beam bulb without taking the entire assembly out of the truck, you have to cut about 1/2" up x 1/2 over on the upper right corner of the old inspection hole and trim the right side of the butterfly wing on the back of the twist cap so it will clear when you twist and lift to remove. You CANNOT do this for the high beam because there is a heavy metal brace that holds the fender on right there. However you will probably NEVER have to change the high beam as you will rarely use them. If this seems confusing to you that's ok. It will be quite clear what I'm talking about when you go to install them. I got them both in in about 3 hours partially because I took my time and also had no one else helping. You can do it yourself without much diff. Just be careful not to drop them as you will have to take them in and out a few times to get the right fit. Don't cut to much out! Take a little at a time. You can still use the original inspection covers.
Bottom line. If you buy nothing else for your Century GET THESE LIGHTS!!! You will not regret it and they are worth every penny. I got mine at the Iowa 80 in Kenly, NC for $285 a piece. Not a bad Price considering they want $256 for new lights for my 2001 GMC Yukon XL! Chrome shop Mafia has them for $275 if your out there. I75 chrome shop in Wildwood,FL. wants $350. Kinda stinky of them. I also got Raineys truck center around exit 358 on I75 Fl. to say he would do them for $300 but only after telling him about Chrome Shop Mafia's price. Originally he wanted $325.
As for the visor we have decided to fix the one we have. I bought 7 LED units to replace the 5 that are stock. So I'm adding 2 to fill in the gap between the center and sides. Also I'm stripping the ugly orange stripe off and it will be all black behind. I plasti dipped the front bumper to make it all one color and it looks great! Just one thing about plasi dip. It wont cover imperfections and don't try to spray it in the cold! That's 2 things so I lied! Good luck Have fun.
This be the Scarecrow sighnin' off. 10-4?
