This seems to be an appropriate place to make this point. I just left a bad company that's always pushing illegal loads as well and I got tired of fighting with them every time I said no and find me something else. I refused to get in the situation this driver did, bided my time, and left, However, when it comes to reporting these companies and being protected from retaliation, myself and a few others have found DOT and the FMCSA people less than cooperative. The problem is they have SO many companies to investigate and such that they just don't want this stuff thrown on their already full plate. I know of one driver actually threatened with the possibility of being busted for any violations he himself committed while with said company if he chose to file a complaint. I don't think they care to admit or deal with the scope of the safety violations being committed out there by these companies and just want to randomly select when and where to intervene according to their time frame and liking. Just my 2 cents on that subject.
Add to that the real possibility of adverse reports on his DAC by these companies with little or no recourse and it seems the whole system goes against what they claim they want you to do in this situation.
No excuse for getting yourself in the situation the OP did but to address the bigger issue of these companies that do this as an everyday way of doing business, what can we, as an industry, do to stop these companies in the first place.

Yes it's a sad state of affairs. It was wise of you to just up and leave. You can't fight that kind of situation.
All DOT and FMCSA is proving a point of how bad we are and sticking it to us through their nonsensical rules and points system.
It's all about the almighty buck. It's a nice revenue stream for the authorities and insurance cos.
we just don't have a strong enough voice to push back and say NO !!!
Govt regs and interference are never going to help us in this situation. They probably think we are a bunch of whiners.
Can you imagine if you were to have a major accident and some ambulance chasing lawyer finds out you were overweight.
Guess who they're going to blame ! It's a disgrace. -
So you want the name of the greatest company on Earth, that will hire you with your record ?
You really screwed up . And a lot.
Maybe run for any office as a Democrat.
Maybe learn to say "would you like an apple pie with that?" Or "welcome to walmart" -
Time is the only thing that will heal your record. If you can get away from your current company . Before you have any more red marks. And keep from getting in trouble .

Well like was said you have a few options: Find a better company and quit. Quit and then find a better company. Take a deep breath (or two) like was mentioned and DEAL WITH IT. Most of the problems that you mentioned could have been avoided and maybe a couple could not have been but that is the nature of the game. It's easy for us to say the speeding and overweight was on you because......it was. Your stress issues because of your sleeping quarters is all in your head and no one but you can fix that. Hope things work out.

Government shutdown didn't help but it was manageable.

UPS sounds like a real cess pool operation.

I worked the safety department for a small refrigerated company and with three tickets, our insurance company would not allow us to hire you. I would imagine they are going to be a problem no matter where you go. As for the overweight ticket..........as many here have said, it is your CDL YOU must protect it to continue with this career. As for who will hire you, it will depend on you MVR and CSA points, both are looked at before hiring a driver now.
