That was well written, some good points, some just being sarcastic. I've only been driving 20 years, I've witnessed alot of change. Times change, its an entirely different story out there now. I stay away from truckstops when possible, but it's a neccesitty, showers and hot food. I do however choose who I talk to, sit by, and stand next to. There's old nasty drivers, just like there's the new nasty dirty drivers, that much hasn't really changed. It's part of the life that I either deal with or get out of. Unfortunately though I am picky about my showers, and might go a day without one, 2 at the most, but I do change my clothes daily. brush my teeth, wash my face all that, it's not the best conditions but it's part of the job.

I agree with you Cap...there have always been drivers out there who could gag a maggot by raising their arms. There have always been drivers who were rude, noisy, arrogant and semi retarded acting. There have always been drivers who couldn't drive a harrow tooth in a hogs ###,but yet they were out there....The HUGE difference is,they were the exceptions for the most part.Since the CDL mills have come along, they are the rule. The vast majority of the new drivers(although not ALL by any means...there are some really good hands that show up out of the bunch too.) that you run across today that are products of these big company "schools" are ignorant, disrespectful, nasty smelling trash....No pride in their selves, equipment or proffesion. They were flipping burgers or working at Walmart one day,two weeks later, they are "drivers".No background in trucks nor desire to learn and if they survive 6 months, they "know" more than you do and will tell you they do in a heart beat.Just go through these threads on here and it's pretty evident when a 90 day fng is 'splaining to a guy like you with 20 yrs in the saddle all about what the best equipment is for what job or how to plan a trip etc etc....Although you are never to old to learn a new trick ,the majority of it is bull crap royale that their "training engineer" told them about.Whatever they want to think or do is fine by me anymore.:smt102:confused5: Just blow the horn at them when they are in the ditch, broke down or are doing something stupid that only endangers them.

Well as a former "burger flipper at McDonalds" (4 years at McDonalds left as a swing manager in 1991 at the age of 22) I just have 1 thing to say to you Muleskinner; "would you like fries with that? Perhaps an apple pie? How about some gift certificates?" (GUFFAW).:biggrin_25525:
