Those costs get figured in every time the truck is rolling with the exception of insurance and equipment payments. They keep coming regardless.

Is direct freight a good load board?

nofilter, RERM, Lady K and 1 other person Thank this.

nofilter Thanks this.

I know a few local guys here that love to say they have direct shippers , but the rates theyre getting suck so not much to brag about.
Don't think that just because its a direct shipper hes automatically going to give you more money.
Know your cost and what you need to charge to make money, not truck for a hobby.
Good luck. -
To clarify what I meant is , that if you negotiate a bad rate from a direct shipper you will be no better off than a bad rate from a broker.
Yes direct freight would be the way to go, but negotiate a good rate, don't use "direct shipper" as a bragging point. -
Ok I know some where this ? Has been ask but could not find it. So can someone tell me the best load boards and is direct freight any good. ?.

it is highly frustrating for anyone giving advice to someone that don't bother reading thorough-fully & understanding their advice .
You should re-read (carefully) what NoCoCraig wrote ....
You will not need to ask again...
nofilterGITRDUN45 Thanks this. -
Its scary at first, you have to be willing to sit and know youre not going to get every single load, but for that matter , its better not to move it if it isn't going to leave some money in your pocket.
This is a great place with great people, a lot of resources here. Good luck.Last edited: May 13, 2014
Lady K, GITRDUN45, Foxcover and 1 other person Thank this. -
After reading through directshipper2013s posts, I can just about say for sure I hauled a couple of your loads out of Ohio in March. The comments here are a direct reflection from the broker I used on those loads. $4 per mile on a short load is not a bad rate for either party. The brutally cold and snowy winter had things in a pinch during that time. Supply and demand made this past winter profitable for me.
GITRDUN45 Thanks this.
