Code talkers? I don't speak Navajo...lol. Every time I see their trucks I think of the movie with emilo estevez and Lou diamond Phillips during the scene when they got high off of peyote. Dang I am special haha

What does Abilene start there new drivers with and what is pay after training. How long Is training and how freight you touch
-
It varies. 1st stage drivers get .16 for all miles the truck does trainer/trainee. Our pay is the same empty or loaded. 2nd stage is .20 and that can be 20000+ mi a month. At all stages we split NE .10 bonus pay as well as stop pay. Starting pay is based on experience but the bottom is .33. My year solo I averaged 3200+ miles per week. Hope that helps. PM me with contact # for more details. Typing too much!

Swap tonight involved a GUESSTIMATE on the trailers weight. Tandems slammed forward. The original driver scaled it and it was over on drives so he moved the tandems 6 holes forward. That could have moved the weight 2500lbs but it only made 400lbs difference when I rescaled. Driver just penciled it in with his volvos fuel state. Good effort but not a smart move. He could have been way over on trailer.Always just reweigh. $2 vs DOT fine.
3 scale tickets, 3 moves of the 5th wheel, HAD TO GIVE MY CHAINS TO THE SWAP DRIVER!!!! That was to be able to take 400lbs of fuel. I had 67 gal at swap time. Just need to clear NJ scales on 78 and then can fuel. Geez!! -
I hope Jonathan reads my last post. Just so he knows what we have to deal with out here. All of us on this site are pretty smart and would have done what I did. Cant say that for the rest of the fleet. Take car of us. We solve our own problems out here instead of making dispatchers jump from bridges.
-
I had to solve my own minor problem tonight too. When I did my pre-trip my driver's side windshield wiper fell off. I was able to re-attach it. I was just happy I didn't have to use 100mph tape.
BigBrin Thanks this. -
Oh, 100mph tape is duck tape for you civilian types. LOL!!
BigBrin Thanks this.
