Thanks. I think he'd be down there practicing every day if they let him and we owned a gas station. Lots more interesting than part-time pizza making and yardwork for Mom and Dad.
As far as training, he gets along with all sorts of people. He's read the trainer horror stories, but I susoect most trainers are good people and we only hear about the few bad ones or from complainers whodon't know how to go along to get along. Sometimes I suspect companies assign trainers by how willing trainees are to get along.

That's good practice by itself. Before he knows it he'll drive up to 650 miles or so a day. That itself is a challenge for a new driver. He'll experience a sore tailbone and other long distant ailments until his body adjusts. One trick you might tell him is not to ride around all day with his wallet in his back pocket. Have him stick it in his front or side pocket or close by in sight.
I remember when I first started 650 miles seemed like forever to complete. The longer you drive the shorter the trips become it seems. Now 650 miles seems like 300 miles.

sounds like a good school...a lot of the schools are just puppy mills..they run the student through quick as they can....glad this school is taking the extra time with him

Good idea on the wallet-ectomy (hubby`s term). Son has been passenger since toddlerhood on long car trips and drove three girls (his platonic harem in coillege) to DC and back for spring break and same three to Madison WI through Chicago last year. Not the same as on a truck but at least he's no stranger to travel. Having a regular paycheck will go a long way toward soothing the aches and pains and hassles of driving.

I have to respectfully disagree here.If your son is a non smoking person, he has the right to request a non smoking trainer. And if the trainer isn't doing the 'little things' like brushing his teeth? Well just remember, he might have to spend a month p n the truck with someone ..
