First I ask why even go up 95.
Try going up the back way. 75 to 40 to 81 then 78 into Jersey. Only a few extra miles but its FREE. That the way I always went up the east coastNumb Thanks this. -
they are telling me I can not pick up till noon Sunday, and have to be there Monday afternoon... Or I would go that way
just looking at costs, thinking about just turning down the run.. I finally get some home time and they call and want a "hot run" covered that they forgot about..
(PS, I am 200 + miles SE of Atlanta )
Forgot to mention that I am on E-Logs so fudging times is out of the question to make the appointment -
Getting there is only part of the cost problem. Getting back you'll have a host of bridges that didn't charge you going in but will gouge coming back.

Does'nt your company reimburse u for the tolls?I know what u mean though. You'll need at least $200.00 for tolls to get in and out of the east coast unless u take all the back roads.
-
Ft. McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore $24
JFK Memorial Highway to MD/DE line $48
Deleware Turnpike $9
Delaware Memorial Bridge $25
NJ Turnpike $49.75
GW $85
NE Thruway $8
= First Born
or
= $248.75
That's .26 cpm just to pay tolls. Also you are looking at almost 15 hour drive time. Too many time stamps for that.
I think northbound is higher? -

Thanks CondoCruiser... that's what I was looking for....
Called the load planner and told him PASS...
Unless he came off some serious $$$$ for tolls... Want a laugh, he told me that they pay a 50.00 premium for NE runs... Ain't even close for covering those expenses.. -
Doing the "FLEESE PURCHASE" and so its all my money...

On elogs? Never make it on time. If you started with a fresh 14 hour clock leaving the shipper, MAYBE, but chances are quite against you. Between the toll stops, weigh stations (you get a break from those from the DE line to CT line at least), metro area traffic and construction, plus a stop in the lower half of NJ, I wouldn't take it without a whole lot more time allowance.
It's been awhile since I've been south, but if you're 200 miles from Atlanta as it is, you'll be out of hours by the time you hit MD or DE, and that's assuming the shipper gets you right in and out.
PASS was the right call on that one, in my book.
