I wouldn't touch anything less than $2.00 when I was a BCO. I spent a lot of time on that load board and took MANY of crap loads just to make a decent week out of nothing.

LS takes 35% of a TONU? Is this common practice? My experience has been most of this pay barely covers my expenses to begin with. No one is taking #### from it. Period.
I would never lease to someone out to take what's mine. I would also never lease to anyone that didn't understand one simple concept. I'm the boss of my company and my truck and they work for me. If they aren't booking loads that make ME money, something will be changing real soon. That simple. Otherwise haul your own freight. I make money before you make money.

Those rates are to the truck
I understand some May be below par but they aren't too far off landstar rates I've talked to folks in truck stops about .. Maybe 0.05 to 0.10 in some case short depending on the lane

The numbers I've quoted were when I was there (09-11). Whatever rate was posted to the board was on my settlement. The fuel surcharge was the very next line on my settlement. Agents never posted the fuel because they would have to field calls all day from drivers wanting to run that load or negotiate a better cpm.

My information is old because a lot has changed since I've been there. A current driver would be better to answer pay questions. I hope my initial post helped you gather information.

rates can be kinda crazy sometimes.......if you give me a specific city, I'll give you the top and bottom 5 rates. But to kinda simplify it, I try to average $1.50 a mile (FSC and everything included).......I'm usually successful.

Few loads from my area off the LS board right now. Some have FSC and Accessorials listed but usually not.FSC is been running on average $.48 so thats paid at 100% and 65% is line haul.

    Lanham,Md to Boston.Ma pays $1695 on 438 miles so 438x$.48 =210.24. $1695-210.24= 1484.76x65%=$965.09+210.24=1175.33/438 miles=$2.68 per mile to the truck.

    Lancaster,Pa to Roanoke,Va pays $950 on 314 miles so 314x$.48=150.72 950-150.72=$799.28x65%=519.53+150.72=$670.25/314 miles=$2.13 per mile to the truck

    Harrisburg,Pa to Nitro,WV pays $1008.36 on 371 miles so 371x$.48=$178.08 1008.36-178.08=$830.28x65%=$539.68+178.08=$717.76/371 miles=$1.93 per mile to the truck

short ones to crappy locations will always pay better......Atlanta to Sutherland VA, 502 miles pays $1.72, Stuarts Draft $1.60, Jackson MO, $1.20 (primarily because the cheapest thing coming out of Jackson is $1.70 going 400 miles to McCallen TX, and the best thing coming out of Jackson is $3.37 going 110 miles to St. Louis with the average being in the $1.90 range).
Thats the other thing I like about the Schneider board......they tell you upfront and without having to do a bunch of math what the load pays.
