Or maybe like you said a tight capacity ( such as say Dallas or Etc where truck capacity is tight )

no.....think of it as a one off deal......not a steady move, just something that someone else fell out of or a customer who ships infrequently and irregularly.....usually pays the best because they won't have much (or any) of a discount and they need it moved now.

Just a company driver for sni veteran not rookie. Reading this and seeing how much work is involved and nagging phone calls to brokers, sni seems plain in simple, boot up pc/tablet look at there board choose where u want to go and do it. No phones no dickkking with brokers just scoot n boot.

Thats just it, its the "scoot n boot" mindset is why so many O/O think they have to run, run, run 5-6-700 miles a day to make any money. I remember that mentality as I too was once leased to SNI….

It's extra loads outside of contract freight. Customer has 10 loads a week and contracted with xyz trucking company to move those 10 loads. Sudden upsurge in business they now have 15 loads a week. Either xyz trucking brokers out those extra loads thru xyz logistics or maybe the shipper calls TQL to broker them out. Rate is agreed to on the spot.

But what I'm saying is different no waiting around making calls etc. Sni choice you'll make more running shorter miles, no need to burn out on long runs. You set your pace by picking freight.

You'll make more than other O/O who are on the dispatch system at SNI

I see the advantages of simplicity at SNI

i also see the advantage of negotiations at LS but like RollinCoal said it's frowned upon and sometimes cannot be done due to pre neg rates

I talked to a guy that was on SNI choice briefly at the petro Effingham and he said he was a long time LS - BCO and said that he just didn't like the idea of LS having so many charges and so many loads being placed on the board by several different brokers and after he had 2-3 cancel or over book loads by different agents in a time frame of 4 weeks that he knew it was time to go . He said LS had started to become a launching pad for Beginner Brokers and brokers who don't have integrity or just want to move freight and actually do not have freight of their own or actually work double for CHR or etc ( example ) and go to landstar saying they have their own freight when actually they just use load board freight hence the double or Quintupling or more of loads .

Said is he loved the simple operation of SNI and the rates are not that far off once you consider the charges of (LS Fees )

    1. Scanning
    2. Qualcomm ( EOBR $27 or so monthly )
    3. Tolls
    4. Plate costs ( SNI plate is roughly 150 a yr less )
    5. System or load board fee
    6. Trip advance fee for FSG and 30% LH

now with that said its hear say so I can't confirm it to be true .

Now he did also say that LS had good agents also so I wanted to be clear on that also . He stated it had just become harder to weed the bad apples out now as they keep popping up and disappearing or a different person comes in with same staff as a agent that was banned by landstar etc ..

But just so I'm fair he did say LS did have good and great agents
