The way I read it, he's already been through CDL school, but the DMV is giving him problems.
Prime might be a good choice. They have refrigerated, tankers, flatbed.
Prime will help him get a Missouri CDL, then he can switch that to his home state later.

Doesn't Prime also have the Wal-Mart account for their DC in Lewiston, Maine? I see a ton of their trucks every day up this way.
-
Absolutely beautiful. You're blessed, man.
-
Yeah, me too.
-
The way Prime adds miles, it will be more like 150,000 miles before your vacation, and it is not a weeks pay, it is only $500, before taxes.
-
Yes they do, but the lucky drivers, are hauling potatoes out of Easton.
-
Well guess what? That's what they put on your settlement, which is $500 more than most larger carriers will give you... they call it a "leave of absence," you turn your truck in, and get whatever beater they have lying around when you get back. So be as negative as you like, but what Prime gives you is better than many carriers.
-
All I'm doing, is stating facts. That is what this forum for. People want to know the truth, especially if it is different than what the recruiter tells them. It doesn't matter what other carriers pay for vacation. When you are promised an average weeks pay for vacation, and paid less, it is very disappointing.
I noticed you did not dispute what I said. Now I'm wondering why you would mislead people on purpose. -
Sir, if you want to accuse me of lying, do so openly. I do not lie. That is what Prime promises you, and I use the wording that I do simply because if they change the conditions of what they offer, I'm not providing old information. BTW, the Household Movers Guide mileage is what it is, and it is a way of protecting the carrier against employees who would steal "miles" to pad their paychecks. The loads are rated up front so you know what you'll be getting. Typically it's about 10% lower than actual miles, so you'll end up running about 135,000 actual vs 125,000 dispatched miles.
If you go further in your accusations, I will report it. -
Actually I mqy have not specified well...
I havent gone through CDL school. I paid a CDL school for a couple of individual classes here and there and for the rent of their truck to take the road test.
Maybe having different instructors on those individual classes didnt really help as much.
I just basically need a bit more practice and ill be set to take that test.
Ps. Didnt go to school because of the money. I know it sounds stupid but thought I'd do fine doing everything on my own..
