Cant really blame that on PTL. If I have an emergency at home that I need to take care, Im going home whether they want me to or not. My telling them about it is just out of courtesy. Id prefer I had their blessings, but they are not really required. If you have to go home, you have to go home, that's just the bottom line.

    Lux Prometheus Thanks this.

I was getting right at 3000 a week with them. The only time I didn't was if the truck broke down or something. I was keeping the left door shut though, not hanging out in truckstops.

How long did you work for them?

64-65 at least that's what they were running back in 11, when I worked there.

TSRH. And I'd be having all conversations while driving home to the nearest truck stop. And recording the calls, if possible.

That sort of treatment should be a firing offense. There is no sense in that.

First of all, youre 42 miles from the house- You tell them you are going home, end of discussion. All companies out there don't care about you or your house. No offense. Ive been driving for 22 yrs so I know this for a fact. Hope everything worked out for you and Im sorry. Oliver Margetin

Guarantee you'll get only 1700-2000 miles per week. I've been with PTL one year now and I average 2,000 miles weekly. Was a trainer there also. Can't share a truck with another guy, just isn't gonna happen anymore.

just remember that you won't get the hometime in any kind of timely manner , they will make sure of that - they say it's not forced dispach until you try to turn a load down - they make the terms completely of how you work for them

Do you know what rate they pay for experienced drivers (5 years)? Is per diem forced or is that negotiable?
