Well, he got it on a Purina load and made a wrong turn down a road with a 8 ton limit... that's his story. Knight did end up paying about 3k of it according to the driver since he was following the route he was given. Apparently it happened in PA and I don't know the whole story... just that he got whacked good.

I guess they feel sorry for me after my truck broke, or they are just trying to finish off this loner truck. 500+ miles each of the last 4 days.

Are you kidding?! CRE is already 500 miles down the road. Don't get me wrong I'm not supporting Knight and the other megas where pay issues, breakdowns, poor scheduling, rotten treatment, and running illegal are just another day at the office but England is absolute scum of the Earth trash... you can't really compare them with anyone but PAM and CRST- they might be beating those by a nose and Werner by a few truck lengths but any other company is better. Working for England is a suicidal act... Here's some bonus points for Knight...
A COMPARISON OF "BAD" AND "TERRIBAD":
-Fleece Purchase Scam, Knight's lease isn't the best but they generally aren't handing out negative paychecks like CRE. Knight is actually pretty middle of the road on this.
-Training, CRE lets new drivers with 30 days train new drivers with zero days. UNTHINKABLY RETARDED, even for Knight which generally requires 1-3 years to train others and a good record to boot.
-Bathing, Most Knight drivers shower occasionally... most CRE drivers wear their stench as a badge of shame to let everyone know who they work for...
-Pay, Knight does pay its employees (about 32 cpm, not much but they pay them) whereas CRE (22 cpm) has been known for delaying paychecks and not paying at all.
-Maintenance, Knight preforms some maintenance which is like pulling teeth but at CRE you simply recover your truck from the last sucker who abandoned it on the side of the road.
-Training, Knight pays you $400/wk while you train and you get a truck at the end of it. CRE charges $6,000 for their training which is NOT recognized by other companies and charges interest on top of it and you probably won't get a truck to boot... but CRE will keep your money.
-Miles, As dumb and disorganized as things at Knight get, they at least keep you rolling... I've heard from CRE drivers waiting 7 days for a load (usually why they abandon the truck)
-Courtesy, Knight dispatchers are somewhat decent (varies) people who are trying to figure out how to dispatch a truck which is apparently a confusing process for them, CRE dispatch is comprised of felons and special needs cases that care nothing about the law or a driver's well being and communicate using threats and intimidation.
Yes, Knight is bad... starting out though, it could be a lot worse... CRE is a great example of a lot worse.
P.S. I'm not a Knight cheerleader by any means, but not all megas are created equal.Last edited: May 11, 2014

2 years into driving for Knight and i get .37 -.46 per mile. Not too bad. -
I was suppose to be home tomorrow. I sit now15 hours from home with 14 hours on my clock. No hours gained back tonight or tomorrow(due to the earlier breakdown).
If it was just home time for home time's sake it wouldn't have been so bad but I had a medical and a legal appointment lined up and my license expires friday. I had both appointments lined up on tuesday and a DMV appointment set on wednesday.
Now I have to take a 34 just to get home sometime on wednesday. Moved the legal appointment to Thursday and the doctor appointment had to move to next tuesday. Joy of joys i'll get to stand in line thursday at the DMV without an appointment after the legal appointment. Maybe I should thank Knight, I'll be home a whole week now instead of 2 days.

Sounds about right, see if you can drop your trailer and bobtail in... then you don't need to worry about it since you are allowed to be off duty while b/t if heading home. Just a thought... Obviously you'll need a load to get you close enough but then again you wouldn't be the first guy to ninja back 800 miles due to dispatch error.

good deal, be safe. I applied with them a week ago and haven't heard a word yet. Must be they aren't hurting for drivers
