I didn't lose, I just don't have to hook up to a POS container trailer. Winning.

Going once.......going twice.....sold

Take your cost per mile and add what you want for profit on top of that, and that will be YOUR rate.
-
I will haul it for free. That's right, free. As long as someone pays my fuel, my mortgage for 6 months, pays for my food for a year, and gives me $10,000 in cash before I turn my truck.
-
So if he said his cost per mile is 1.36$/mile and he than said he wants a million bucks to profit of this run would you still give the same advice?
-
It is my understanding, never having pulled an empty container, that they tend to have lots of drag and therefore fuel mileage is way down. The fact that it is empty is a good sign. It was a one time a practice to leave the containers where they ended up overseas as shipping cost sometimes exceeded the cost of a new container. That being said, if you have a reason to go to Florida, I would tell you to bid at least $3 per mile.
