    CentraMatic's Review,

Some time ago I got new steer tires after my original Goodyear tires began to fail rapidly around 70,000 miles. I was experiencing wobbling in the steering and pulling to the right. Balanced and rotated them and it helped for a while. By the time I hit 100,000 miles with those tires, I just couldn't stand it anymore! The truck was almost brand new but it felt like you were driving and old clunker. Just can't see driving all day long and consistently fight with steering to keep the truck on the road. Just made no sense. There had to be a fix!

So I got new tires and purchased the Cetramatic's and had them installed at same time. Still had to get the new tires rotated and balanced because they did start to pull to the right a little. Now with over 130,000 on these steer tires no problems truck drives great! SFI said they don't allow us to purchase them through our maintenance account because doesn't actually save us any money. I disagree, these tires are still looking good and will out last the originals by twice as much. That saves me at least $900 less cost of the CM -$260 that's s savings of $640. Plus I feel more comfort and safety having better control of the steering. I understand that SFI wont' allow us to purchase through maintenance things like hub covers, custom mud flaps, chrome etc.. I'm thinking to them ..the CM's fall in the same category.. Which is understandable I guess.. They probably look at as the maintenance account as for repairs that are part of the truck it's self. No add on's!

Anyway, Made this video to show my results.. Was kinda standing in the shadow so pardon my unprofessional taping! lol

Have heard rumors in the past that the original tires from factory are crap anyway and that would make this info null..so take it for what's worth! Me..I seriously doubt that and was having problems so went for a solution.. If you know what I mean. Everywhere I asked different mechanics about the irregular wear and there really was no good reason why tires do this. Both of my company trucks did exact same thing.. So I see this as a Goodyear tire thing, or else the Centramatic's do really keep the tires running smoothly.

    Carry on!

I have been looking at getting those for the Cascadia. You may have just finished pushing me in that direction!

I like the part where its your money that funds the maintenance acct, but they tell you what the money can be used for.

one would have to believe if you decided to leave the lease , you wouldn't get any of the maintenance fund returned to you, for sure something have to be repaired to use it all up.

I just don't think I could operate under those conditions.

but having said that , I like my centramatics also

I hear ya! If I was to default on the lease and turn it in prior to the contract then yes they would put that money toward what I owe and more than likely not see a cent of it. If I pay truck off tho they will give it back or put it toward pay off etc..

Nice review atruckr! I got them on my steer tires too, I haven't had them for long enough to say if they increase the life of the tires, but so far they are running nice and smooth. When it comes time to purchase drive tires I will probably install them on the rear as well... or maybe when I rotate the drives. We'll see. How have you been liking those Firestone steer tires? I purchased Michelin XZA3's, nice tires but they were $590 a piece! I guess time will tell if the cost is worth it, both with the Centramatics and the tires.

200 k on steers? I'd be careful they may have plenty of tread but don't forget about all the abuse the sidewalls still have been through.

liking the Firestone's so far, seem to be decent tire. They were $456 a piece. How's the Michelin's? Think they are worth the extra bucks? Drives have been doing pretty good, little beat up, but for the most part even wear except one. Was thinking of putting CM's on the drives but not sure if it is necessary with this truck. When time comes for new ones might consider it.
