I figured that I have enough posts here to post a picture or two. I just hope that they show up. These were taken during the first part of march about 200 km south west of yellowknife NWT. This was either a lake or a feeder river going to a lake. Couldn't really tell since it was all iced over. This was the only way home so we had to cross it. Hope you all enjoy. Can't really show you all the rest of the pictures since they have the trucks in them.

You can go to a army/navy surplus store and maybe pickup some foul weather gear. I had a set of coveralls that the crews would wear down on the south pole. It was good to -60degress. Just remember the closest you come to the cold the higher the price. A good set of insulated boots are a must.dinger Thanks this.

That truck was brand new. It had less than 2,500 miles on it when I got in the drivers seat. Most of everything we do in our shop are one offs. Custom installs with test engines. Engines that you may or may not see in a few years. Thing is the software on most of these engines aren't up to production quality yet so there are a few bugs in it. I get to tell the engineers in charge of the project what they need to fix on the software part of the truck. The engines run, they just don't run great yet. That and the first engines they test are directed towards the fleet market that way they can make the mass consumer happy first. The electrical issue on the other truck was caused by an engineer that did not know what she was doing with the electrical system. I kind of fell into the job, I had a friend refer me and two weeks later I found my self employeed with Cummins. Our trucks don't have the class that most O/O trucks have. They blend in real well with all of the other trucks on the roads, except for one or two of them that have three exhaust stacks.
