Good to know! The first time I came down through there with a 53' trailer, it reminded me of a nasty mountain route out in Montana and my GPS had suggested that one as well. As for this driver's situation, more speculation might also be that another vehicle came down at him and he simply got nervous and stalled it out... but only the driver knows what really happened.

you think he bought new underwear yet?

Doubtful, knowing what USX pays their drivers - and the fact that he is probably unemployed.

That truck is an auto shift, when you go from being empty to fully loaded like that the transmission has to relearn the shift points. It will cut the power to the motor if it gets confused on what gear it needs to be in. Might be another possibility of what happened. Being an o/o im wondering if he'd be able to get someone to let him lease on after this one.

"Pittston Township Deputy Fire Chief Allan Capozucca said the truck had been stuck on the tracks for five to 10 minutes before being hit."

Wow, can you imagine being stuck on train tracks for 10 minutes? That must have been a terrible 10 minutes, followed by an even more terrible result... but at least the driver's OK (physically). -
Hopefully in his own four-wheeler.
