I talked to their recruiter yesterday and faxed them a resume today. I'll see if there's any response by next week or so. Weather now is real great for driving too. But all in all might be a better time to get in than last year at this time as business conditions improve slightly.

I talked to altl recruiter yesterday and faxed my resume today. I could use a job because I drove for a company like Sunset in Byron Center only this one was Halo Transportation in Grand Rapids (Adi Jelovac) to get some experience and got burned out quick! These Bosnians don't belong in the trucking business.

How is ALTL with newbie drivers? Or do they often want experienced only?

Spoke with Cobey yesterday and found that they're only hiring experienced drivers right now. He said to try back in January as they'd probably hire a few inexperienced drivers then.

I had a positive meeting with Cobey when he showed me around the office and yard. Hudsonville is only 30-40 miles from my home, so it's not bad that I need to park the truck there. I was pretty impressed with their professionalism.

Depending on where I end up, I'll definitely keep them in mind for a local carrier.

This thread is now more than a year past it's most recent post other than mine. Does anyone have any current information on ALTL?

If you like folding furniture blankets for pennies on the dollar hours on end, go for it! I wouldn't work for that sorry company if they paid me .92cpm as a company driver, I'll go with my .46cpm I've right now! Oh, they got old volvos that aren't worth the oil they put in them! Good luck!!!

This company is OK to start with but will promise a lot more than they will give....I worked there two years. I was more than pleased with the maintenance on the trucks but the dispatch was awful and the pay was always cut.
