that mall has a nice assortment of restaurants, bars and a theater to see some movies, I walked there from the terminal once but its a very good walk and I ended up getting a cab on the way back.
Also check priceline for some good deals on hotels, I have the app on my phone and sometimes I have found some incredible last minute deals. The other night I was able to secure a suite that normally goes for $179 for $98 plus taxes.

what? my truck broke down for 3 days, the first night I bought my own room, the second night I just slept in the truck and they towed me away on the third day and bought a hotel that night. no breakdown pay

then about a month later the truck was in the shop for a total of 5 days, I had to buy my own room 3 of those nights. they just told me "sleep in the truck" if you are familiar with the truck I had sleeping in it any night is the last place you'd want to sleep

Sounds like you need a new DM if you are being treated like that.

Anyone stayed at the Swift Terminal in Denver? Does it have rooms to stay in? Are they somewhat decent? Where I'm not going to wake up with some unkown disease not yet discovered, and bugs crawling up my ###.

No rooms there, you'll have to stay in your truck.

Personally I would go the TA across the highway if there is a parking space.

With central we would contact OTRM for a hotel. I think with swift you have to go thru dispatch. Not 100% though.

I'm convinced that OTRM is just a myth, they don't exist. I've sent a macro now to them 4 times with no response for any of them.

If it is a short term fix, like you are only out of the truck for several hours during the day, you stay in the truck until they come and get it. Then you get back in a few hours later.
If it is going to be in the shop overnight you can get a hotel voucher from the dispatch window.

'In the shop' means that it is inside the shop area - not simply in shop status.
They won't allow you to be in the truck while it is inside, and they do not expect you to sleep in a chair.

But if you are in shop status and have to wait a day or two until they can get you in, you stay in the truck during that time.
Unless you want to pay for a room, of course.
No different, really, from doing a 34 in your truck.

And I don't find it unreasonable. If I have my usual accommodations available while waiting to get in the shop there is no reason to expect a hotel room.
But if I am not able to sleep in my truck, I expect them to get me a room at a motel until I can.
It has never been a problem for me. And I have had them get me a motel several times.

If you are short on supplies the Denver terminal is ideal. There is a Walmart in easy walking distance.
