Hi, all! Glad to have joined this forum and glad there IS such a forum. I've been reading so many threads and have gained great insight into the trucking world. Thank you all for your contributions!
I've had my license for over a year now and have gained some serious experience driving reefers and dry vans. As a company driver I've clocked a little over 190K miles. Recently, became an "owner/operator" leased on to a carrier (I'm not paying to own a truck, just renting it; let me know if there's a more accurate label for that type of driver). Currently, seeking to purchase a truck and get my own authority with plans of starting a small fleet (rent or finance).

Anyone else here has similar goals or can provide meaningful advice/suggestions?

Also, what are some of the major expos/trade shows that are worth attending? I saw at least 3 such as ATA MC&E, GATS and MATS.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Thanks, Chinatown! I've checked out their website previously and requested more info. I've tried to obtain a quote for general liability insurance from them but was told they require that you either have held a CDL for 2 years or that your company has been active for 2 years. I know from the posts they offer drug consortium for $100, which I'll be signing up for shortly. I wonder if that's $100 for each employee.
