Oh finally the lazy union member protected speaks. You better get your facts right on how many unions in last decade closed and lost members compared to how much they grown in last decade. Now anyone with a half brain would know if they are strong and good for anything they would be growing NOT closing. So good luck impressing anyone with lazy worker protection dues. Stay safe!!

 

LOL last few years GE , Boeing and few other major companies moved parts of their operations from union states to non union states. And you say it was cause lawsuits and OSHA?? Lol you don't know a thing. They moved cause of unions!! They still deal with lawsuits and OSHA same as where they were. And most moving out of country cause of it. Look at my state of a Florida. Last 2 years booming for new large businesses. Reason....... Right to work state. Unions can't do a thing here. They can fire you for bad hair day if they want. You need to really deal with the facts. Things good causes growth. A union diminishing everywhere is obvious it doesn't help workers. If you show up on time and work I'm sure most will keep their jobs and get raises when warranted. Fact: Unions protect the lazy is the only good they do. I worked it and seen it for 4 years when I was 18 to 22. Joined for a year. Seen the lazy get as much help as a paying member and still didn't save jobs. Read this thread and out of all the comments your the only one for unions. So get it thru your head unions are DONE!!

 

Like someone already said you still think you are smarter than your dad, like most children do. You don't know anything about unions since you never worked for a union company, their not perfect but everyone in this country has it better as a direct result of the advances the unions made. If you can not under stand that you are just plain stupid and no one can cure that.

 

So how did this get down to unions ? Not very many trucking outfits were ever union. The only union job I had was when I was hauling jet fuel only union types can haul jet fuel you know. Teamsters were there for us as drivers company I worked for tried to get us to work longer with no increase in pay we didn't strike but the slowdown was all it took for them to wise up. Still bump into some of the drivers who use to work there the company itself is long gone, the drivers moved on many got help from the union to get other union jobs.

 

great another ancient know it all stuck in the 50's. Your 100% WRONG!! I worked at a union company for four years after 2 weeks I turned 18 till I was 22. I joined the union in a year. After learning, seeing what they did for the non paying lazy members I quit the union. So get your facts straight!! Unions protect the lazy and has crippled this country. Quit commenting on your beliefs and show the facts. My statements you can google my facts. Look at what GE & Boeing has done recent to eliminate the union. Not including other huge company's. A worker that works and is on time can keep their jobs and get raises as equal or better than being in one. You act like 99% people now not union is not getting good pay and raises. If union so good why they almost diminished and not growing? Our jobs left this country cause of unions!! Look at crap GM building. Millions of recalls by autos made by union members that those cars are rediculous plastic crap. How is that strengthening our nation? Think they deserve 30 plus an hour for building crap? Your in la ka land there Mr. Stay safe!!

 

start at beginning of thread and you will see who started union talk. Your comment says it all : Company itself is long gone. Many might have got lucky and got same or better jobs but I'd bet some suffered from that closing.
