The problem with high torque low rpm is the clutch won't handle the low end torque as well so you end up having to get a upgraded clutch but work it .. Especially with the increases in Pulling and take off power ..
Lots of folks don't know Torque helps your fuel mileage also , I'm glad you understand where I was coming from meaning modified -

I have a 2007 Freightliner Century and this was one of my last trips with 17K in my dry van. I only go 57 MPH now instead of the 72 MPH I used to like to run. I would be lucky to average 6.1 MPG. I decided to slow down after listening to one of Kevin Rutherford's radio program.
Most of the loads I pull for Landstar are under 20K LBS.
The attachment shows me getting 8.06 MPG.Jar-Head Thanks this. -
Guess well get back on topic now for folks looking at SNI and LS .
I should have have a set date for orientation in the next few days once I do I'll share my experiences on another thread and keep everyone updated .
Just because i choose SNI doesn't mean it's the best of the 2 just means I liked their offerings better and think SNI was a better long term fit for my operation and my location . I can see where others would be happy with LS also or even F2F since they were brought up a few times . I just weighed everything out and SNI seemed to have everything I was looking for in a company as far as freight and balance of Home time with revenue I needed . -
I also adhere to the KR philosophy on most topics of fuel mileageDewey120 Thanks this.
