Was rolling good. Major accident happened just a few minutes ahead of me on I75 in Ocala. Seems that a cop was cutting through the median and someone panicked and caused a pileup. Two LifeFlights so far. Some up a little further said four wheeler all mangled in the woods and a truck and a few more cars.

Well that was interesting. From what I understand there was a fatality so I75S is shut down completely. They were having southbound flip northbound. The fun part, the trooper car was up against that guardrail facing east/west with all the wreckage you had to take the shoulder and grass and swing wide. They were letting 3-4 trucks go and then some four wheelers then shut it down to let northbound take a turn going. I flipped around and just jumped in the northbound rest area. Since I don't have to be there til 1500 and 150 miles away I'm just gonna keep it shut down til morning.

Did I mention how much I am starting to hate HP. Got a call from my travel agent this morning and said she noticed there hasn't been any movement on my truck since 0200. I told her about the accident and we are still okay cuz the BOL says 1500. She said go by QC which is 0800. Oh joy! I'll be there in 2 1/2 hours. Well I'm here, tiny store with no lift gate or dock. I go inside and guess what the manager says? Yep. They won't be here until after 1500. Just sent in a load denial on my pre-plan which was a HP to pick up at USX in GA and del by 1000 tomorrow. Well guess again. Already started my clock as per our people so it is just gonna tick down.

Since your bored pull out your map and look up Lubec, ME. Easternmost town in the USA. Nice. 80 mi of 2 lane, frost heaved, no shoulder, crumbled away white line.... Moose dung, etc. oh in the pouring down rain. Customer was great and loved our accents and especially the "yalls". I might move there. Maybe become mayor. Canada was only 100yds away eh?

Hey gang. Just an update. I am strongly considering between TransAm and Superservice. I already got an invite to Superservice, but have not committed yet. Waiting to hear back from TA. I value your input as well as your friendships. I miss you guys huge!! Maybe one day....... but for now I need to stick with one of these for 13-24 months. SS will give me tuition reimbursement of $100 per month for as long as I am there up to $4000. TA has the edge on furnishings and have automatics, as SS does not (no fridge, inverter no APU can idle under 40 and over 70. SS gives two weeks vacation, first year. Pay is slightly better at SS. Have any of you heard either bad or good. Remember beggars can't be choosers. I had no reservations coming to Abilene seven months ago. But, these, I think may be the best of a bad lot. Thanks gang. Stay safe. Deuces.

George, my decision to come to Abilene was the equipment and the fellow drivers was just icing on the cake. I had job offers making 3-7 cents more a mile than I get now. But again I love the equipment and today made My 3 months and I have 40365 paid miles my first load was Feb 20th that's the two reasons I choose Abilene. With that being said I've never driven for TA or SS. I know TA has better equipment but I also know after about 6 months they try to shove the lease thing down your throat. I don't know about miles or equipment for SS. I'm sure there are blogs for both so read and read some more and try to get to a few truck stops and talk to drivers. Good Luck!!!
