try not to use too much time securing and tarping. I never had a problem with safety and I would usually do 15 minute secure, 30 minute tarp.
so you don't have to stop working to stop the clock, after you put yourself on duty to secure/tarp, click the clock out button and set when you want it to go off duty. it will automatically put you off after the desired time.![]()

Noggin, Just a crappy load, but been to/through Hell, MI multiple times. Thanks for the tips on clock management. Hope things are going well in your new job. Miss your sense of humor in the Melton threads.

love the job at FedEx, but to be perfectly honest, I miss driving out on the road. Just seeing you guys post your loads and stuff gets me all teary eyed....
well not really lol -
Picked up in Baltimore and now staying the night at consignee in New Philadelphia, OH. 400 mile load.
theres always tomorrow. -
Didn't know I was on a JIT load so being late due to hrs issue gets me a service failure. Not happy (with myself), but nothing I can do about it now. On to the next load.
Army91W Thanks this. -
Got a 398 mile load with d/h going to Syracuse, NY. Of course been sitting here at shipper for 2.5 hours waiting for pick up number from Melton. I hate burning my 14 sitting.
-
Well it will fall off in 3 to 6 months so I would beat myself to bad about it. It's nature of the beast when you got a million and one things to think about in this work.
-
Your check engine light for DEF, did that happen at around 165k miles?
