Im a first time poster so hello everyone. Ok, I drive a 2005 Peterbilt 379 with a twin turbo C15 Acert motor. It has inconsistent boost. When I first start it, it'll boost around 40 as it should but sometimes it bounces around and wont keep solid boost. Then about 20-30 min of driving and it drops down to barely 30. It has horrid power the rest of the day. I've checked all pipeing and found no leaks or damage. What could cause this problem?

I would check wastegate and boost sensor. Boost sensor can go bad and not give a check engine light.

You need to pressurize the intake system and sprey all boost hoses, the cac and bellows with soapy water, it could be a crack in something opening up when it gets warm. Also double check the exhaust manifold for any signs of cracks or leaks around the sealing surphaces, hard to see behind the turbos sometimes. How long since the overhead has been set ?? Get that done if its been a whyle. Waste gate on high press turbo could be seizing open like the other poster said also.

There was somebody else with this problem not very long ago on a twin turbo, with lots of replies. Try doing a forum search, there was quite a bit of feedback as I recall.

Found the problem. It dropped an injector the other day, got it replaced and now it runs great. It must had a "factory reject" put in it during the overhaul. Now it runs 40-45 psi consistantly. Its like driving an entirely different truck now! Thank you all for your help!
